Long, overdue update if you continue to follow this page.
After some considerable contemplation, I have decided to not renew my insurance license. If you have been on the fence about getting life insurance, I can always refer you to any of my colleagues. It is something I remain 100% in favor of and cannot express enough the importance of having. Here are my recommendations:
Birth - 18: Enough whole life to cover a funeral and any potential debts related to whatever may have happened.
18 - 65: Combo of term and whole life, any policy that includes some living benefits. If you are married/serious relationship/have children have enough to cover any of your monthly income/debt. In addition, have enough whole life to cover funeral/burial and any potential debts related to whatever may have happened.
65+: By now, you are likely getting debt paid down/off. Once debt is gone term may not be necessary. Have enough whole life to cover funeral/burial and any potential debts so you don't leave your family holding the bag.
