🇪🇸🍽️🧀 SNEAK PEEK of Osprey Tapas on Anastasia Island in St. Augustine, Florida. The local owners have curated an incredible menu of authentic Spanish tapas with imported cheeses, meats, and spirits! The restaurant will open on November 4. Reservations details will be announced soon.
FOLLOW: Osprey Tapas

Owned and operated by a husband-and-wife team Erica Thompson and John Thompson — the power couple behind the popular Osprey Tacos — which opened in 2017.

The tapas restaurant will bring a little Spanish bar culture to St. Augustine, with vermouth flights, cava spritzes, sherry-based classics, house sangría, and a curated selection of Spanish wines. The cocktail menu pairs Spanish classics with creative house cocktails, alongside fresh-pressed mocktails and rotating local b**r.

The daily happy hour captures the Spanish spirit of slowing down, sharing a drink, and enjoying a complimentary tapa from 3-5 PM everyday!

HISTORIC PRESERVATION NEWS! Ximenez-Fatio House Museum awarded $750,000 grant from the National Park Service

The circa 1798 Ximenez-Fatio House Museum has been awarded a $750,000 Semiquincentennial grant from the Historic Preservation Fund administered by the National Park Service, Department of the Interior.

This project represents the next logical phase in a long-term preservation strategy for the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum. This $750,000 three-year project expands upon the work being completed under a 2024 National Park Service grant. This funding from the Semiquincentennial Grant Program will support the museum’s comprehensive approach to preserving the resource and ensure its continued ability to interpret America’s founding and development.

“This funding allows us to protect an irreplaceable piece of St. Augustine’s history,” said Julia Brennan, Co-Manager of the Ximenez-Fatio House Museum. “We are incredibly grateful for the National Park Service’s support in safeguarding this site so future generations can learn from and appreciate its legacy.”

The project consists of a carefully defined scope of interior and exterior preservation work identified in the museum’s historic structures report. This critical project will address preservation needs before deterioration results in the loss of historic materials that contribute to the property’s exceptional integrity and significance.

The original coquina building serves as a house museum and shares Spanish, Minorcan, and early colonial American history, including 228 years of African American history. In addition, there have been 15 archaeological digs on the site that have unearthed findings dating to pre-Columbian times (before Columbus landing in America in 1492).
