Thank you to everyone that signed and sent me back my nominating petitions and also to those who sent them back unsigned and are not sure if they should support me or not. That's OK too as I can only prove to you that I am the best choice going forward as change is PROGRESS.
I look forward to my future ads, flyers and post cards and to my next informative posts. There will be no primary election only a general election in unit 3. Anyone that is willing to let me place my signs on the edges of your property would be great and I would be most appreciative. Please just let me know on facebook or email me at [email protected] or call me on my cell at 906-630-9228 Thank you to all that support me now and in the future.
YOUR support of me is the only way to progress the tribe. We are going to have extremely hard times in the near future and we need the best leadership we can get to bring us through this crisis. I am be the best person for this and I am up for the challenge.

Here is a portion of my platform.
We are going to need to preserve our heritage so that we continue to receive aid from the Federal Government. That may be difficult going forward. I am bringing 42 years of business experience to the board and I am an Elder. I will fight hard to uphold our rights.

I will make sure our Elders are taken care of. You need to remember that if you are not an Elder now you are going to be. Elder programs are extremely important. I will make sure food, housing and health care are of the utmost importance for the Elders and I am committed to expand the program where possible.

I will be free to serve the tribe as needed and be involved in federal, state and local committees and be available to travel to attend in person conferences that are necessary to uphold the integrity of our tribe.

I also intend to become involved with our conservation committee to make sure your hunting, fishing and gathering rights are preserved. This is very important. I am sure the State would love to see the tribes privileges just go away. I don,t think that is going to happen with my help.

I will also be involved in tribal housing. We do not have enough housing and the need is going to get worse soon. We need to capture all the Federal and State funds possible and do all we can now to supply as much tribal housing possible.

This is just a small part of what I want to see happen.
I will post a lot more ideas I have soon such as tribal manufacturing, trades funding and general diversification as to try to not rely solely on the casinos for our income. We need to expand into other lucrative businesses just to survive.

Here is a small piece of information. If we just plan liquidate and disperse all our funds that would give every tribal member around 49,000 of us $1,440.00. We receive well over that 1400.00 annually thru healthcare, elder checks and food distribution.

I think our tribe is definitely worth fighting for.

email me at jde49781@gmail with your comments or just post comments here. I want to know what you are thinking.
