Women's Service League

Women's Service League Women committed to promoting volunteerism & improving community thru positive action & leadership.

Founded in 1931 by seven Sunday school girls, Women’s Service League (WSL) was originally a sorority named Tau Sigma, or truth seekers. The purpose of the group was service and aid to civic and charitable causes. Annual community events like Operation Coats, the Great Estate Sale, and Charity Ball have become time-honored traditions for generations of residents. Newer efforts including beach clea

n ups and the Athena Scholarship program (which rewards graduating females who embody the heart of a volunteer) have supported WSL's growing commitment to philanthropic endeavors. To date, countless organizations in Berrien County and beyond have benefitted from the tireless work of Women’s Service League as we have raised invaluable awareness and hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities in the great southwest.

✨ We’re still in awe of what this community accomplished together. ✨

Because of the generosity of our sponsors, guests, donors, bidders, and volunteers, Women’s Service League Charity Ball raised $42,750 for New Heights CCDA — the largest amount ever raised in the history of this event.

This incredible support will help New Heights continue walking alongside families in our community by providing reliable transportation, access to healthy food, and a welcoming place for connection through the Laundry Hub. These programs help neighbors move from crisis toward stability, dignity, and opportunity.

But what made the night truly special wasn’t just the fundraising — it was the community that showed up. The energy in the room, the generosity in every bid, and the shared commitment to making Berrien County stronger was something we will never forget.

To everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, volunteered, or bid in the auction — thank you. You made this impact possible.

💗 This is what happens when a community comes together for a cause.

If you were there, we’d love to hear your favorite moment from the evening in the comments!
