The St. Meinrad Volunteer Fire Dept will have our Annual Membership meeting Thursday, January 29th at 6:30 pm at the St Meinrad Community Center. All members are welcome!

An informational meeting and a light meal will be served.

Amanda Epley, Spencer County Dispatch Director, will be giving a presentation about 9️⃣1️⃣1️⃣

Spencer County travel status has been upgraded to a Travel Warning level. Roads are obviously a hazard, but if you’re stranded or in an accident, emergency response will be delayed, and in these temperatures that can quickly take a turn for the worse.

Lane closure planned for State Road 62 in Spencer County

SPENCER COUNTY Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a lane closure for State Road 62 in Spencer County.

Beginning on or around Monday, November 10, crews will begin a lane closure on State Road 62 near Saint Meinrad. This lane closure will occur two miles east of State Road 162.

This lane closure will allow for preparations for a slide correction project to be completed in 2026. Lane closures will occur daily, with lanes re-opening following work each day. A flagger will control the flow of traffic through the work zone.

These lane closures are expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and use extra caution while traveling in and around work zones.

Today, on National First Responders Day, we take a moment to recognize the courageous dispatchers, paramedics, firefighters, EMTs, and all those who are first on the scene when emergencies happen.

Congress officially designated October 28 as National First Responders Day back in 2017, to honor the dedication and bravery of the men and women who protect and serve our communities in times of crisis.

Thank you to all our First Responders in not only Spencer County but our surrounding counties as well.
