Our panelists broke down what’s hidden in our electric bills and why the upcoming City Council vote matters for St. Pete.

Thursday the vote on a feasibility study for public power is scheduled. If approved, this study would finally give us the facts about our options and whether we can build a more affordable, accountable energy future.

This is the moment we’ve been working toward, and we need as many people as possible to show up.

Another data center project is moving forward with

🚨proposed plans to be right next to Duke Energy infrastructure

All of this comes just months after a $6 billion investment from Brookfield Asset Management into Duke Energy Florida. Just like the proposal in Citrus County, we have questions.

But don’t expect any transparency from Duke Energy. They could make up to $1.5 billion in revenue each year if JUST the Fort Meade facility operates at full capacity.

They will always put their bottom line above our communities. Now more than ever, we need to Dump Duke!

Duke Energy has been quietly filing paperwork with the state Public Service Commission about how much they overcharged Floridians for the 2024 storm season.

It’s becoming increasingly clear they rushed their numbers just to start collecting. New filings show Duke knew their estimates were off months earlier and should have ended or reduced the recovery charges.

But instead, they kept taking our money. That’s not a mistake.
That’s a choice.
