SOAR SOAR provides health & wellness activities for adults with developmental disabilities in the Golden Isles. SOAR (Social Opportunities & Active Recreation, Inc.)

is a 501(c)(3) corporation whose vision is that citizens with developmental disabilities will have access to enriching and engaging activities within the community, much like their non-disabled peers. SOAR serves citizens in Glynn and McIntosh counties in Georgia through its two programs as follows:

SOAR’s Special Sports Support Program partners with Special Olympics Coastal Georgia to provide a

year-round sports program for athletes registered with Special Olympics. It also hosts additional adapted sports programs, such as iCan Bike and iCan Swim. SOAR’s Adult Enrichment Program facilitates social and recreational activities for adults with developmental disabilities (SOAR Club Members). Activities are co-sponsored by local Community Partners such as churches, civic clubs and businesses. Activities include dances, parties, picnics, music, dance classes, BINGO games, fishing trips, etc. SOAR’s mission is to link citizens with developmental disabiliites to community partners enriching the lives of all.

SOAR Swim Camp returns June 15-19, 2026! The camp offers specialized aquatic instruction for beginner swimmers with special needs (ages 5 and older). The program focuses on building foundational water safety, drowning prevention techniques, and basic swimming skills.
