We're seeking ideas from our housing partners on how we can reduce regulatory burden. Below is a brief survey seeking feedback on which rules feel outdated, costly, or generally get in the way.

Help us as we consider how to improve our regulatory requirements! We've extended the deadline to give partners more time to respond and share with others that work with OHCS funds.

The survey closes Friday, Aug. 21 at 5 p.m.

If you've been impacted by wildfires this season, there are resources to help:

211info has wildfire evacuation support and response. If you're in an area that is being evacuated, call 2-1-1 or visit https://www.211info.org/agency/2013/26121/ for up-to-date information and local resources.

For anyone impacted by wildfires or wildfire-related air quality, the state now has a hotline open 24/7 you can call for help: 1-833-669-0554. The hotline is available for those who lost property, are sheltering in place, are impacted by wildfire smoke, and more.

Please note that these resources do not provide emergency assistance. If you are in immediate danger or need emergency evacuation assistance, call 9-1-1.

Earlier this week, Eugene saw an exciting grand opening of 48 new homes at Legacy Park Apartments. This beautiful new development is located in North Eugene, with easy access to a multiuse path that connects the community to local parks, businesses, and more.

Cascade Housing Association was the developer for this project and completed it three months ahead of schedule. Floor plans include one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, making it perfect for families and individuals of all backgrounds.

St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County will provide onsite resident services to support families and individuals. A community room, a large playground, and access to greenspace will foster a lasting sense of community for its residents for years to come.

Special shoutout to OHCS Affordable Rental Housing's Brad Lawrence, who received much praise from partners during speeches at the event.

OHCS recently had a chance to visit Astoria and surrounding communities to hear about housing services and regional housing solutions.

As a funding partner, OHCS staff toured the recently opened Baker Building, which features 32 units of permanent supportive housing for individuals exiting homelessness. Staff also toured Columbia Inn, a Project Turnkey shelter.

Thanks to our partners for hosting us and having these essential conversations.

Over the last three months, OHCS has invested in 293 new homes, including 222 rental homes and 71 homes for purchase. Projects are located across the state, with developments located in Lincoln City, Bend, Phoenix, Roseburg, and Portland.

One development, Makara Landing in Lincoln City, will bring 33 homes for purchase to the community. Another homeownership development in Bend will bring 38 new energy-efficient homes, supporting long-term stability for Bend’s essential workforce.

Each of the developments funded reflects Oregon's need for diverse housing solutions. Read about each development at https://bit.ly/4i3MBWj.
