The Salem, Oregon Club of the Communist Party USA condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the violent and repressive actions carried out by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) and the Trump administration. These attacks on working-class people—on our neighbors, comrades, and kin—represent a brutal continuation of white supremacist and capitalist state violence. No person should live in fear because of their immigration status, the language they speak, or who they love.
The targeted repression of comrades, including David Huerta, is not an isolated incident—it is part of a broader campaign to silence dissent, criminalize solidarity, and divide the working class. We recognize these actions for what they are: an assault not only on individuals, but on the very principles of justice, freedom, and human dignity.
The Salem Club stands in resolute solidarity with our comrades in Los Angeles and across the globe who continue the fight for liberation, for a world beyond borders, prisons, and militarized policing—a world without fascism, without exploitation.
We join our comrades in demanding the immediate release of David Huerta, an end to the ongoing ICE terror in our communities, and the full withdrawal of the National Guard from our cities. We will not be intimidated. We will organize, we will resist, and we will win.
