If you, like me, have noticed how terrible the South Broadway train crossing (by Dairy Queen) has become, please take a minute and do the following.
1. Go to www.csx.com
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select “Contact Us”
3. In the “Choose a category” drop down, select “Property Concerns”.
4. From that menu, choose “Rough Crossing”
5. Complete the requested information. In “Issue Location” I put the crossing number which is 152941P

The City of Salem Public Works is announcing that, weather permitting, the following roads will be closed to on street parking for OIL and CHIP road maintenance on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 7:00 AM to 5:00PM. Please do not park on the following roads nor drive through oil not covered by rock.

The Salem Police Department welcomes our newest patrol officer Isaak Hays. Officer Hays comes to the city as a lateral hire with experience. This means he will begin Field Training immediately before being assigned to patrol.

We look forward to Officer Hays’ future career as he serves the citizens of Salem.
