Heads up, Sugar House! 🚧 Make sure you check the detour map and plan for extra travel time.

🚧 This weekend our crews will be working overnight and throughout the day on Sunday to quickly complete unexpected sewer maintenance!

• Where: 2100 South between McClelland St. and 1000 East.

• When: Starting this Saturday, Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 21 at 7 a.m. We also expect overnight closures on Sept. 21-22 for final roadway repairs.

• How to get around: People walking and biking can continue through the area and there will be alternative routes for local traffic and commuters.

Check the detour map before you go and plan for extra travel time. We know closures can be inconvenient, but completing this work now will prevent larger repairs in the future. Thanks for your patience as crews work as quickly and safely as possible!

Despite the smoke in the air along the Wasatch Front, crews on are making great progress. A mapping flight estimated acreage at 566, but that has not yet been ground truthed by crews or GIS. The acreage and containment will be updated later today when calculated. Fire managers are confident we will see an increase in containment tonight.

The "Ready" status has been lifted for Arlington Hills and there are correctly no areas of any level of evacuations on this fire. Residents should continue to follow fire updates, but the threat to the community is minimal at this time.

The smoke in the air in the Salt Lake Valley is mostly from the near Tooele. With the wind blowing east, the smoke from their firing operations is blowing towards Salt Lake. There has not been an increase in fire activity on the Bonneville Fire.
