To the caregiver...
You spend so much of your time making sure everyone else is okay.
You remember appointments, fill prescriptions, prepare meals, offer encouragement, lose sleep, carry worries that no one else sees, and keep showing up—day after day.
But here's something you need to hear, too:
You cannot pour from an empty cup.
Taking time to rest, ask for help, or simply breathe isn't selfish. It's not abandoning the people you love. It's caring for yourself so you can continue caring for them with strength, patience, and compassion.
Your needs matter.
Your health matters.
Your heart matters.
If today all you can do is sit quietly with a cup of coffee, take a short walk, accept help from a friend, or spend a few moments in prayer, let that be enough.
Caring for yourself isn't stepping away from the people you love—it's making sure you'll still have the strength to care for them tomorrow.
And remember this: You deserve the same kindness and compassion that you so freely give to everyone else. 💚
