JOIN US FOR OUR 2ND ANNUAL BLACK AUGUST 5K

For the second year in a row Oppressed Revolutionaries for Worker Power is hosting this 5k to uplift the training tenant of Black August.

This 5k is open to anyone who is interested in getting active and fighting for liberation. Walk, run, or skate!

The liberation of our people is not an easy fight to win. It requires strong discipline and strength. Be apart of our movement to build a strong leftist community in San Antonio!!

In order to fight effectively for a better future, it is necessary to understand the social conditions in which we carry out struggle.

As part of our Black August program, join Oppressed Revolutionaries for Worker Power (12pm, Aug 15 Potion) to study the concept of internal colonialism. For many years internal colonialism was a core analytical concept guiding the fight for Black Liberation, but has been largely abandoned in recent decades.

ORWP asserts that broad understanding of internal colonialism must be revived, updated to the present conditions, and applied to our local context - in this case San Antonio, a ‘majority-minority’ low-wage city with a legacy (long-established) local ruling class and a sell-out political and cultural elite providing a veneer of progressivism to the evolution of the colonial process.

This study will aim to introduce local working class fighters to the broad framework of internal colonialism by relating it to the better understood process of direct colonialism, the historical shift to neo-colonialism and the morphing social conditions since the concept was last a core feature of revolutionary analysis in the US.

Throughout our lives capitalism holds our future hostage with only the imagination of war, climate change, and distress. This dossier explores the struggle in front of us and demands a future by and for the people. Strategically planned to ensure humanity prevails in tandem with our environment.

ORWP is proud to have participated in a successful week of action calling No War on Cuba led locally by Hands Off Latin America! (HOLA!) and the recently formed ACC ! We joined the NWOC Rally, led a Let Cuba Live Lotería Night, supported a banner drop in Houston and joined in the second annual Bandera Asada by Autonomous Brown Berets

We joined the call demanding

1. End all aggressions on Cuba- No War on Cuba
2. End the Blockade
3. Off the State Sponsorship of Terrorism list
4. Return Guantanamo

There is so much for us to learn from Cuba.
Cuba is a beacon of hope and light, their struggle for their self determination and sovereignty sends shivers down the spine of imperialists and it is a model for us to keep fighting here to end wars, and push for a government that meets our needs. It is our collective responsibility. We must push for our demands to be met and to collaborate with the island as the blockade affects US people too. Cuba has many medical developments such as the recent Alzheimer's vaccine, the foot ulcer amputation prevention vaccine for diabetes, COVID vaccine for under children 5, the vaccine to end transmission of AIDS from mother to baby and a 100 year climate change and mitigation plan to address the realities of climate change...and that is just scratching the surface.

We will continue building solidarity for Cuba and for the defense of sovereignty and self determination.

Yesterday, Oppressed Revolutionaries hosted a No War on Cuba Lotería night. In collaboration with the Hands Off Latin America (HOLA) coalition this lotería night featured a custom made lotería set highlighting Cuban culture, figures, history and government.

As part of the No War on Cuba week of action it is extremely important to uplift the people and government of Cuba. Under a genocidal blockade by the war hungry and imperialist United States, Cuba is suffering for the sole reason of existing.

Winners received posters of Cuban revolutionary art. Everyday the people of San Antonio exhibit our solidarity with the people of Cuba!

With the United States government worsening its genocidal blockade on Cuba bringing fuel shortages and power outages, we must stand with the Cuba people and say:
“NO WAR ON CUBA, END THE BLOCKADE, AND LET CUBA LIVE!”

For decades, the Cuban people have been fighting against imperialism and building their country and society. Cuba has free healthcare, education, and housing for its people. 🏥📚🏡
Cuba’s Family Code, amendments in the Cuban Constitution, were updated to be the most progressive and popular family policies in Latin America. These codes have expanded the rights of children, women, and LGBTQ people. 🧑‍🧒🧑‍🧑‍🧒🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒🧑‍🧒‍🧒
