At Holistic Haven PCH, comfort comes in many forms—and sometimes it has four paws and a wagging tail.

Our Doula Dogs are an important part of our care team. They provide companionship, unconditional love, gentle comfort, and moments of joy to our residents, families, staff, and visitors. Whether they are sitting quietly at a bedside, offering a soft nuzzle during a difficult moment, or simply bringing a smile to someone's face, their presence can make all the difference.

Animals have a special way of connecting with people when words are not enough. They help reduce anxiety, provide emotional support, encourage conversation, and bring a sense of peace and normalcy during life's most challenging transitions.

We are grateful for the comfort, love, and healing our furry team members bring to our home each day. 🐶💕

💜 In Loving Memory of Elbert 💜

Recently, we had the honor of caring for Elbert.

Elbert was such a sweet and gentle soul. He had a way of making those around him smile simply by being himself. His kindness, quiet presence, and warm spirit brought comfort and joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

It was truly an honor to walk alongside Elbert and his family during this chapter of his journey. Moments spent visiting, sharing stories, and simply being in his presence will remain in our hearts for years to come.

💜 In Loving Memory of Lenda 💜

Recently, we had the honor of caring for Lenda here at Holistic Haven PCH.

Lenda was such a sweet soul—kind, gentle, and always a pleasure to be around. She loved spending time chatting with the ladies in the home, sharing stories, laughter, and companionship. She also introduced us to some of her favorite classic television shows, bringing back wonderful memories and giving us all a chance to enjoy programs many of us had not seen in years.

It was truly a privilege to walk alongside Lenda and her family during this chapter of her journey. We are grateful for the time we shared, the conversations, the smiles, and the moments of connection that made her so special.

To Lenda's family, thank you for allowing us to be a part of her care and for trusting us during such a meaningful time. Please know that she will be remembered with great fondness and affection by all of us here at Holistic Haven.

🌿💜 Learning Through Service, Compassion, and Real-Life Experience 💜🌿

One of the things that makes Holistic Haven so unique is our partnership with the International Doula Life Movement Institute (IDLM).

As a teaching and mentoring care home, we welcome IDLM students, graduates, interns, and apprentices from across the United States who come to learn what compassionate, person-centered care truly looks like in practice.

Our residents are not simply cared for—they are surrounded by a community of individuals dedicated to bringing comfort, companionship, dignity, and connection.

Recently, we had the privilege of caring for John. John had a love for playing cards, spending time with friends, and listening to music. During his time with us, we were able to help him enjoy some special outings to his favorite place to play cards with the people he cared about most. Those moments brought smiles, laughter, and memories that will stay with us forever.

It was a true honor to walk alongside John, his family, and his friends through this chapter of life. Caring for him reminded us once again why this work matters so deeply, not just caring for a person, but honoring their life, their passions, their relationships, and their story.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to OpusCare for being a part of John's care team and for partnering with us to provide compassionate support throughout his journey. Special thanks to Robin and Angel for the kindness, dedication, and support they provided to John and those who loved him. We are grateful to work alongside professionals who lead with both skill and heart.

A special thank you as well to the students of the International Doula Life Movement. Your visits, presence, music, compassion, and willingness to sit beside someone during a sacred time brought comfort, connection, and moments of peace to John. The simple acts of sharing songs, conversation, and companionship made a meaningful difference and reflected the heart of doula care in action.

🇺🇸 Honoring Kevin 🇺🇸

Some people leave an imprint on every life they touch, and Kevin was one of those people.

Kevin proudly served as a member of the National Guard and as a Deputy, dedicating his life to serving and protecting others. Beyond his service, he was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, friend, and so much more. He was a man of strength, character, humor, and heart.

It was our tremendous honor and privilege to walk alongside Kevin and his family during a sacred chapter of his journey. We witnessed the deep love that surrounded him and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.

At Holistic Haven, we are reminded every day that every life tells a story. Kevin's story was one of service, dedication, family, and love. His legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.
