USS JACKSON bid farewell to LT Wilkinson, during a heartfelt departure ceremony recognizing his dedicated service and outstanding contributions to the crew.

Throughout his tour, LT Wilkinson served as the EMO CSE1 Divo, providing steadfast leadership and oversight of the ship’s communications and electronics systems. His commitment to combat systems readiness, technical excellence, and mission accomplishment ensured JACKSON remained prepared to execute its mission whenever called upon. His leadership, mentorship, and dedication to his Sailors made a lasting impact on both the division and the command.

In recognition of his exceptional performance and service, LT Wilkinson was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, honoring his significant contributions to USS JACKSON and the United States Navy.

Fair Winds and Following Seas, XO!

USS JACKSON (LCS 6) bid farewell to our Executive Officer during a time-honored Navy “Bong Off” ceremony, celebrating his dedicated service and leadership throughout his tour aboard JACKSON.

As Executive Officer, he played a vital role in the ship’s success, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and warfighting excellence. His steady leadership and commitment to the crew helped prepare JACKSON to meet every challenge while strengthening the command’s readiness and mission effectiveness.

During the ceremony, he was presented with an end-of-tour Meritorious Service Medal, recognizing his exceptional leadership and lasting contributions to USS JACKSON and the United States Navy. Surrounded by family, friends, and shipmates, the crew honored his service before he made his final walk off JACKSON, accompanied by his family, as the sideboys rendered honors and the crew wished him fair winds as he begins a well-earned retirement after a distinguished career of naval service.

In true JACKSON fashion, the XO also passed on one of the crew’s more lighthearted traditions—the “Old Man Baton.” As the ship’s longest-serving Sailor departed, the honorary title of “Old Man” was passed to ET2 Kim, who now proudly carries the distinction as JACKSON’s longest-tenured crew member. While unofficial, the tradition represents the continuity, camaraderie, and shared history that make USS JACKSON more than just a crew—it makes her a family.

Thank you for your unwavering dedication to JACKSON and her crew. Your leadership has left a lasting impact on every Sailor who had the privilege to serve alongside you, and your legacy will continue to sail with USS JACKSON.

Throughout his tour, ET1 Brunner demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, leadership, and dedication to mission readiness. Serving as the ship’s 3M Coordinator (3MC) at the end of his tour, he played a critical role in ensuring material readiness and maintenance excellence across the command.

In recognition of his superior performance, ET1 Brunner was awarded an end-of-tour Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, a testament to his hard work, leadership, and lasting contributions to USS JACKSON.

Shipmates gathered to honor his contributions and send him off in true JACKSON fashion. His leadership and commitment to excellence leave a lasting legacy that will continue to impact the crew.

Sailors gathered to celebrate the Chief Petty Officer’s Birthday, recognizing the legacy, leadership, and unwavering commitment of our Chiefs Mess. The ceremonial cake cutting—shared between senior and junior Chiefs—symbolizes the passing of knowledge, experience, and responsibility from one generation to the next.

For over a century, Chief Petty Officers have been the backbone of the Navy, leading from the deckplates and setting the standard for professionalism, mentorship, and warfighting excellence. The celebration not only honors that proud history but reinforces the bond and tradition that continue to shape our Navy’s future.
