At hashtag , Qualcomm presented a smart refrigerator concept that uses AI and connected device integration to monitor food inventory and usage patterns. The system is designed to move beyond basic storage by introducing awareness and contextual alerts into everyday appliances.

Observation: Context-Aware Kitchen Intelligence
The concept can identify available ingredients and suggest recipes based on current inventory. It can also track items that are running low and send reminders while a user is out shopping. Future integration with RFID-style tagging is proposed to help monitor expiration dates more precisely.

In caregiving scenarios, the system could notify a caregiver if essential groceries are depleted. It may also detect patterns such as a refrigerator door not being opened for an extended period, which could indicate a potential issue requiring attention.

At , the VillageCore team explored the CP PLUS and Qualcomm Technologies collaboration focused on AI-enabled video intelligence. A central feature of the system is on-site edge AI processing. Video is analyzed locally within the facility rather than sent to the cloud. This allows immediate alerts, keeps sensitive data on premises, and reduces reliance on external networks.

Observation: From Recording to Active Oversight
The platform supports use cases such as slip-and-fall detection, weapon detection, facial recognition, proximity alerts, and restricted area monitoring. Facilities can configure access rules and receive notifications if certain individuals enter specific zones or interact in flagged ways. Live feeds remain accessible within the video management system.

LG Electronics introduced LG CLOiD™ at CES 2026 as part of its “Zero Labor Home” concept. The system combines robotics, AI, and connected home integration to automate routine household tasks while supporting safety and oversight within the home.

Observation: Robotics Integrated with the Smart Home
LG CLOiD is presented as an AI-powered home robot capable of tasks such as cooking and laundry while connecting to LG’s ThinQ ecosystem. Compassionate Avatar: Using just a single photograph, the system creates a virtual likeness of the deceased. This avatar is not an automated chatbot; it is controlled live by a trained XR therapist who guides the conversation with empathy.

A Safe Space for Farewell: Within a controlled virtual environment, users can speak with the avatar, which responds with lifelike speech, nods, and smiles. This creates the opportunity for a "final conversation" to resolve guilt, regret, or psychological debt.

Rewriting the Memory: For those haunted by traumatic final images, this technology helps replace painful memories with a warmer, calmer scene of reunion and goodbye.

At , the VillageCore team sat down with the experts at Houston Bionics to explore the ExoRehab X. We documented how this wearable "exoskeletal" device turns repetitive rehabilitation into an engaging, interactive experience for stroke survivors.

1. The Problem: The "Rehab Plateau" and Low Repetition Recovery after a stroke requires thousands of repetitions to trigger neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to rewire itself. However, traditional therapy can be tedious, making it difficult for patients to stay motivated at home. Without consistent, high-intensity exercise, progress often stalls, and the "range of motion" remains limited.

2. The Solution: Gamified Resistance Therapy The ExoRehab X is a lightweight, at-home medical device that uses "passive" robotics to make exercise feel like a game:
