It’s official—Boo Bash is back! 🎃 Join TFSS for our fifth annual Boo Bash—a FREE, family-friendly Halloween celebration for LGBTQ+ youth and their families. Our celebration will take place on Saturday, October 24th from 2–5 PM in Spring Valley, CA!

We're excited to bring our community together for an unforgettable afternoon filled with trick-or-treating, exciting games, family-friendly drag, and so much more! Get ready to enjoy connection, belonging, and the magic of Halloween with community 👻✨

Are you a trans youth looking for guidance and connection? Or a trans adult ready to make a difference in a young person’s life? Kyler’s Connections is a program that brings Mentors and Mentees together to build meaningful relationships rooted in support, encouragement, and community.

TFSS was incredibly grateful to join the San Diego City Council and our community partners in recognition of Transgender History Month. Every August we uplift the lives and stories of trans people throughout history and through every experience that has shaped our community into the vibrant and resilient community it is today. This proclamation marks August as Trans History Month in San Diego, and honors our impact on the city and around the world. 🏳️‍⚧️

Next Wednesday, August 19th, our friends at Gossip Grill and Mariam T are hosting Bingo Gone Bonkers, a special fundraiser benefiting TransFamily Support Services! 🏳️‍⚧️

Come out for a night of bingo, raffles, and community while giving back to the work we do alongside trans youth and their families. Your $20 ticket includes three bingo cards and a $10 donation to TFSS, with all raffle proceeds going towards benefiting our work. BREAKING: Today, CMS finalized a rule that prohibits federal Medicaid and CHIP funding from covering gender-affirming healthcare for transgender youth under 19.

To be clear: This rule does not end gender-affirming care—but it creates a devastating barrier for trans youth and families who depend on Medicaid and CHIP.

Healthcare decisions belong to patients, families, and doctors—not politicians. We are working with national partners to understand the full impact of this rule and invite families who are affected to reach out to our Medical Navigation team at [email protected] for support.

We stand with trans youth. We stand with their families. And we will not stop fighting for their right to receive the care they need and deserve.

Team TFSS was honored to join The Human Dignity Foundation for this year's Dignity in Motion celebration. It was an incredible evening dedicated to uplifting artists, advocates, and organizations working toward a more just and compassionate world.

We're especially grateful to the Foundation for awarding TFSS a grant in support of our work. Investments like these help us continue creating affirming spaces, advocating for trans youth, and showing up for our community every day. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us keep this work going! 💙

California's Transgender Privacy Act (SB 59) is now officially in effect, expanding privacy protections for Californians seeking gender-related name and gender marker changes.

If you completed a name and/or gender marker change before July 1, 2026, you may need to take additional steps to make your previous court records confidential.
