THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
Choosing to serve the Lord.

The people of Israel had a long history of suffering because of poor choices.

Joshua urges them not only to serve the Lord but also to repent and turn away from self-indulgence toward the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 lists nine). Against such things there is no law.

They recognize that Joshua is bringing them into an oral contract that binds them to obey the Lord and no other gods.

The story in Joshua teaches us about God’s great patience and reflects His character of grace and love.

Israel’s history also teaches us about God’s patience and long-suffering until His sovereign purposes are fulfilled.

Today we do the same when we desire a personal relationship with God (Acts 4:12).

Like the Israelites, we are to enter into a verbal contract agreeing that Jesus is the only way.

There are no other gods, and there is salvation in no other. We commit ourselves to worship God and God alone, becoming stewards of Jesus.

23 “Now then,” said Joshua, “throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel.”

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
Waiting with expectation.

In Revelation 21, John is given a vision that is not merely a glimpse of a distant future.

It is a promise that speaks to the deepest longings of our souls: a New Heaven and a New Earth, where God dwells among His people, with no more sorrow, no more pain, and no more separation from His presence.

This is the hope that fuels our faith, an active hope that calls us to live today with that promised future in view.

C.S. Lewis once wrote, “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.”

This longing — this deep ache for something more — is the Spirit’s whisper of what is to come: the New Jerusalem descending from Heaven, God dwelling with His people, and life flourishing in His presence.

As we wait for His glorious return, may we, too, reflect that light in a world that desperately needs His hope.

Today, we continue to live with that expectation, longing not just for Heaven but for the very presence of God—His light, His life, His love—illuminating every step of our journey.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
A Story of Faithfulness.

It's easy to wonder whether our everyday lives matter.

But the story of Tabitha reminds us that significance isn't found in status—it's found in faithfulness.

God used Tabitha's hands, heart, and quiet service to bless an entire community.

When she died, those she had touched weren't ready to let go, not only because of grief but because her life had meaning.

Through their bold prayers and Peter's faithful response, God brought restoration.

God still does this. He takes what we offer in faith—our time, gifts, and prayers—and uses them for His purposes.

So whatever season you’re in, whatever your story, God invites you to rise.

Rise in prayer.
Rise with purpose.
Rise and trust that your life can reflect His love in powerful ways.

When we live prayerfully and purposefully, we become part of God’s restoration story in the world.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
The Believer's Inheritance.

In Revelation 22, the angel reveals to John the river of the water of life, pure and clear, flowing directly from the throne of God and the Lamb.

This is the same water Jesus spoke of to the Samaritan woman—living water that would satisfy forever (John 4:10).

Beside the river stands the Tree of Life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, one for each month, symbolizing perpetual provision and healing for the nations.

This is the restoration of Eden, where the curse is lifted, and God's people dwell with Him in eternal peace and provision. His name is written on their foreheads, signifying belonging and divine favor.

The passage concludes with a powerful promise: "They will reign forever and ever."

This is the believer's inheritance—to reign with Christ, dwell in His presence, and experience the fullness of His glory forever.

VERSES:
There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
Whom we belong to.

The interactions between Peter and Jesus in John 21 powerfully illustrate Jesus' redemptive mission.

They remind us of God's enduring grace, which never gives up on us and offers redemption even amid our most grievous failures.

The Bible reminds us that those who have repented and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior belong to God.

The Bible states, "You were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."

Additionally, Romans 12:1-2 says, "1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Let's hold this message close to our hearts as we live by God's plan.

Love is a deliberate choice and a precious offering.

It is a deep commitment to offering oneself to another for their betterment.

Selfless love is entirely focused on the other person's welfare and progress.

God’s grace is enough for those who have failed, those who have hidden, and those hungry for restoration.

Jesus forgives; the decision is ours to follow Him and glorify God. Jesus meets us, feeds us, and sends us to love others as we have been loved.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
Prodigals, forgiveness, and faithfulness.

We are all like the prodigal son.

We identify with the younger son when we feel disconnected
or lost.

The term "prodigal" means wastefully extravagant. Just as Jesus addressed the Pharisees who disapproved of His association with sinners, He calls us, as individuals created in God's image and likeness, to love unconditionally and to forgive others.

The proper emphasis is on the father rather than on the
sons. It is an unveiling of God's heart.

Regardless of our actions, God will forgive us if we are
willing to be humble and to acknowledge our mistakes.

The parable is about the kind of God we have. When we turn
to Him, our God comes running to lavish His love on us; He will not forsake us.

Instead, He will forgive us. God's love is not dependent on
our faithfulness; it is unwavering. God actively seeks out sinners to save
them.

Sin is always against God and may also be against other
people. The prodigal son fully admitted to both.

Repentance opens the way to our lesson: You can never
out-sin God's forgiveness, which is a boundless well of hope and comfort.

His love for us, His children, is unconditional and not
dependent on our faithfulness.

God loved us while we were still sinners, and even when we
were tested and did not remain faithful, God remains our faithful and loving
Father.

🇺🇸 ***HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! 250th! *** 🇺🇸

THOUGHTS:
Our faith is in Christ, who gives us freedom.

Christ paid a debt [on the cross] He did not owe to those who put their faith and trust in Him as their Lord and Savior. Jesus satisfies a debt we could not pay (Matthew 18:25), forgiving and cleansing us by His blood for our sins (Matthew 18:27) through baptism.

Believe in Christ and make the right spiritual choices. Change your old ways and live a holy life by Christ’s teachings. Turn away from sin and what the world has to offer and walk in the light of Jesus, who gives those who believe in Him new beginnings. If left to our own accord, we, too, are doomed to die, but through Jesus, we have been given [freedom]the gift of eternal life; death is not the end.

VERSE:
“12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,”...”Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom”...for...“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles”..know that...“13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
Doubt, trust, and believing

Doubt is a natural process until we find our connection with Jesus.

Through these encounters, we see the firm foundation for our spiritual growth and secure our faith in Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Doubting Thomas provides a template for all of us who read the story of Jesus from a distance.

We have not seen Jesus' graveclothes, heard Jesus' audible voice, seen Him, or touched His hands or side.

Just as Thomas sought evidence before believing, we, too, may have doubts until we encounter faith.

Each person's journey is unique, and it is essential to acknowledge and respect the diverse paths that lead to belief.

Jesus urges us to maintain unwavering faith, promising we will receive blessings.

These blessings can manifest in numerous ways, including wealth, offspring, good health, redemption, and forgiveness.

Trusting Jesus is essential for our well-being and salvation.

Not only trust, but believe.

Believe that he rose from the dead.

Believe that His hands were nailed to a cross to atone for our sins and that Jesus' blood was shed to cleanse us from all guilt.

Believe that He conquered sin, death, and evil by rising from the dead, freeing us from the bo***ge of sin, and offering us a new life as a new creation.

The good news for those who believe is that Jesus has bestowed upon us the Holy Spirit, who has committed to standing by us forever, until He returns, providing us with hope and comfort.

VERSES:
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
A spiritual calling.

In Ephesians 3, Paul explains that he is in prison because of his stand for Christ Jesus, who represents peace; this will only prove the truth of his teachings.

Amid his imprisonment, Paul reflects on his spiritual calling, a testament to the transformative power of faith even in the darkest times.

Whatever you serve becomes your master, so you are a prisoner to it.

For example, Paul was a sinner and, hence, a prisoner to sin, but now he is a believer and a prisoner to Jesus.

Paul, once passionate about adherence to Jewish law and customs, has now become equally passionate about the Gentiles (You and me).

God used Paul's spiritual calling to bring the Gentiles to salvation through faith in Christ.

Although Paul was imprisoned in the physical sense, he shares that he has been freed spiritually.

The power of his faith in Christ had set him free, and no matter the setting, he put his trust and faith in Christ alone.

How about you? Where do you put your faith?

You, too, can receive the peace Paul had, a testament to your spiritual calling.

Experience the spiritual calling of Jesus in your life, so you too can become a testament to the transformative power of faith and have peace, knowing that Christ lives in you even in the darkest times.

It is a spiritual calling to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, but the decision is yours to make.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY
THOUGHTS:
God's love for us is unwavering and unconditional.

This love knows no bounds, and nothing can impede its flow into our lives.

It is as if God has poured an endless stream of love into our hearts, like turning on a fire hydrant and letting it gush forth without constraint.

The evidence of God's immense love for humanity is seen in His sending His Son to die for believers "at the right time," even when they were in a state of spiritual weakness.

The profound and unconditional nature of God's love surpasses all human understanding. It shows that God's love extends even to those considered His enemies or those who have rejected Him.

God willingly gave His Son for all, regardless of their actions or beliefs. This portrays a love beyond human comprehension or expectation.

The love of God is revealed through Jesus Christ. This love is powerful and gives rise to hope.

Christ's sacrifice was not for the good but for sinners and those who fell short of God's expectations, encompassing all of humanity.

“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

VERSES:
6 You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
