Some very special visitors hopped into Wu Yee Children’s Services this week!

Preschoolers from our Lok Yuen and Generations Early Learning Centers spent time with bunnies from Bunny Guru, learning how to gently interact with animals through play, curiosity, and care. Experiences like these help children practice patience, strengthen communication skills, and learn how to respect animals in a safe and hands-on environment.

This week, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the newly reopened Tenderloin Children’s Play Area! This vibrant, nature-based space was developed in collaboration with Wu Yee Children’s Services for the thousands of children and families who call the Tenderloin home.

Serving more than 3,500 children in the neighborhood, the reimagined playground features natural play structures, expanded greenery, accessible design improvements, and spaces for exploration, learning, and connection.

Thank you to our incredible collaborators and partners, including the San Francisco Department of Early Childhood, SF Recreation & Parks, SF Children & Nature, Crankstart, CAL FIRE, the Mimi and Peter Haas Fund, KABOOM!, LIIF, and the many community partners who helped bring this vision to life.

Together, we are creating joyful, safe, and enriching spaces where children can thrive!
