The Youth Advisory Board consists of a maximum of (20) youth members and a minimum of nine (9) youth members; and at least (3) adult a
dvisory members. Members are selected on the basis of their knowledge, leadership skills and involvement in charitable youth activities. The geographic areas of the City where the applicant resides and the school that the applicant attends shall also be considered in the selection process for Board membership. The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) primary functions are to develop youth leadership and promote charitable service to the community, providing community service opportunities to local youth. The Board serves as a liaison between the cityβs youth and the City Council, lobbying for youth interests, and identifying issues pertaining to youth, communicating the concerns of the youth, and suggesting action items for the Council agenda, proposing youth-related ordinances, city programs, activities, and fund-raising events.
