The City of San Leandro and the San Leandro Unified School District jointly announced that the operating hours for Farrelly Pool are not subject to school hours of operation and will be set at the sole discretion of the City of San Leandro. The newly renovated pool reopened on July 19 after being out of use for approximately 5 years. While in the past, the pool closed prior to the start of the school year, the new design with a separate entrance makes it feasible for the City to operate the pool independently of the school district.

The City plans to keep the pool open through mid-October this year. Exact days and times of operation for Farrelly Pool will be announced at the ribbon-cutting ceremony this Saturday, August 7 at 2 pm.

The City is especially excited to provide a resource during the pandemic that allows exercise, recreation, and relaxation. Currently, Farrelly Pool is practicing COVID-19 safety recommendations and allowing lap swim and lessons.

The City of San Leandro is currently in the design stage to resurface the tennis courts at Heath Park and Washington Manor Park. As part of the project, the City, in conjunction with the Recreation and Parks Commission is considering converting two or more tennis courts into pickleball courts. As part of the project we would like our community's feedback. The survey below includes seven questions regarding the number and location of pickleball courts. You may submit your answers anonymously, but if you provide your contact information we will keep you informed with the progress of the project.
