Yesterday, the County Board of Supervisors approved $750,000 for the defense and protection of Alameda County's immigrant and refugee communities. This leverages an additional $750,000 from an anonymous foundation that will support outreach, legal aid, community education, and more. We’re so proud to be a part of this County!
The Oakland Unified students pictured below were just some of the many community members and organizations that shared their stories in support of the initiative. Thank you to our Unaccompanied Immigrant Youth Initiative Coordinator Jasmine Gonzalez for the update and photos!
