Hunger Action Month is just around the corner...

This September, we’re bringing our community together for an important conversation about hunger, health and the changes affecting our neighbors.

Join us Monday, September 14 at our Concord location for a special Hunger Action Month Food Security Briefing. Local experts and community members will discuss how recent SNAP/CalFresh cuts and upcoming Medicare changes are impacting our food and health care systems, and what the Food Bank is doing to respond.

Whether you’re a longtime Food Bank supporter or simply want to better understand the challenges facing our community, you’re invited.

Last weekend, our CEO, Caitlin Sly, and other Food Bank staff joined the San Ramon Islamic Center for a free food distribution. 🥕🍎 During the distribution, the San Ramon Valley Islamic Center also presented its annual contribution to the Food Bank.

As one of our top organizational donors, their support as both an agency partner and donor makes a meaningful impact in the fight against hunger. 🤝 We’re grateful for their partnership, generosity, and commitment to our neighbors in City of San Ramon - Government!

Today is National Senior Citizens Day – a day to recognize the wisdom and achievements of older adults while also raising awareness of the social and physical issues that impact them.

Many seniors are living on fixed incomes and sometimes struggle to make ends meet. Our Senior Food Program transforms ordinary spaces such as community churches into (free) grocery stores where our older neighbors can shop with dignity for healthy staples that meet their dietary needs.

By bringing food to convenient locations across our community, we’re able to serve more than 2,700 seniors each month! Thank you for helping make this possible.

There’s still time to double your impact for local kids! 💛 Make your donation by midnight PT tonight, August 20, to have it matched dollar for dollar.

Our Kids Nutrition on Weekends (K-NOW) program helps local students access food when school meals aren’t available. With the support of our generous donors, we’re able to provide K-NOW packs filled with easy-to-prepare meals and snacks for kids to take home, helping them stay nourished throughout the weekend🍓

Thanks to Marlyn and Gene Menzies, donations are being matched up to $10,000 - today only.

Free school breakfasts and lunches are a huge help for families during the week, but when the cafeteria closes for the weekend, kids still need food.

That’s where Kids Nutrition on Weekends (K-NOW) comes in. 🎒K-NOW packs provide local students with easy, take-home meals and snacks to help keep them fueled throughout the weekend and ready to learn come Monday morning.

This fall, we’re preparing to distribute 5,000 K-NOW packs to local schools and thanks to generous donors, your gift can make 2X the impact today (8/20/26) 🍎

When Maddison of BSA Troop 22 in Brentwood chose the Food Bank as the focus of her Eagle Scout Service Project, we were thrilled.

As the last step to becoming an Eagle Scout, aspiring Scouts must plan, lead, and raise funds for a significant community service project.

Maddison enlisted family and friends to build and decorate two monumental, three-dimensional works of art, using 30 pallets donated from our warehouses. Her friend Veronika provided the illustrations.

We were blown away by the scale, craftsmanship, and detail!

We’re pleased to announce that Maddison became an Eagle Scout in May. Congratulations, Maddison! And huge thanks to you and Scouting America for helping us celebrate our anniversary in such a special way.

Earlier today, we were excited to welcome Congressman Rep. Mark DeSaulnier to our Food Bank!

📦🥕 He stopped by for a warehouse tour with CEO Caitlin Sly and our advocacy team to see firsthand how food moves through our facility and out into our community.

We also had a great conversation about the impact of H.R. 1 on the neighbors we serve, our priorities for the Farm Bill, and the importance of protecting programs that help families put food on the table.

Congressman DeSaulnier has been a longtime champion of our Food Bank and the work we do. We’re grateful for his continued support, partnership, and advocacy for our neighbors. 🧡
