As National Public Works Week comes to a close, we want to thank the people behind the work. 🚧💚

This week we highlighted the many teams that help keep San Ramon running every day, from maintaining our city’s infrastructure, facilities, and nature, to improving transportation systems, supporting sustainability efforts, and planning for the future of our community.

Behind every project, service request, repair, and improvement is a dedicated team working hard for the community. Whether helping deliver projects like the Bollinger Canyon Road Pedestrian Overcrossing, Sunrise Ridge Park, the Crow Canyon Widening Project, Facility improvements, EV charging infrastructure, or countless everyday maintenance and safety improvements, our staff’s work helps shape the city residents experience every day.

Thank you to all of our Public Works employees for your hard work, dedication, and service to the community.

We’re halfway through Public Works Week! Today we are highlighting three more program areas from our Public Services Division!

🌳💦 Our Landscape team helps keep San Ramon looking beautiful year-round. From trimming trees and cleaning up fallen branches to repairing irrigation systems and planting new landscaping, their work helps maintain the public areas that residents enjoy every day. They help keep the city green, healthy, and looking its best through every season.

💻📝 Our Administrative team keeps everything moving behind the scenes. They answer resident phone calls and service requests, coordinate safety and training programs, process invoices, manage social media, oversee staff uniforms and handle countless day-to-day tasks that help support the entire department. If something is organized, scheduled, processed, or answered, there is a good chance the Admin team helped make it happen.

🚜♻️ Our Fleet & Sustainability teams help keep the city running efficiently both on the road and behind the scenes. Fleet staff maintain City vehicles, work trucks, and heavy equipment so crews can respond safely and reliably every day. Meanwhile, the Sustainability team oversees the City’s partnership with ACI, supports the Trash Free San Ramon initiative, and works to make the community more environmentally friendly through waste reduction and sustainability efforts.

Thank you to these teams for all the work you do to support the community every day!

It’s Day 2 of National Public Works Week, and today we’re highlighting the Engineering Division! 🚧📐

Our Engineering team helps plan, manage, and improve the infrastructure that keeps the city running today and prepares it for the future. From overseeing Capital Improvement Projects to reviewing development plans and inspecting construction projects, their work helps shape the community residents see every day.

The team manages citywide drainage systems, and the federally mandated Stormwater Pollution Control Program to help protect local waterways and reduce flooding risks during storm season. Behind the scenes, they support important environmental and safety efforts that help keep the community resilient and sustainable.

Engineering staff also oversee traffic engineering and manage the City’s GIS systems and mapping applications, helping improve everything from traffic flow to data coordination across departments. If you have ever driven through a synchronized signal, or wondered how infrastructure projects come together, the Engineering division helped make it happen!

Thank you to our Engineering team for the thoughtful planning, technical expertise, and hard work you bring to the community every day.

Public Works Week is here! Today we want to highlight three Program Areas in our Public Services division that help keep our city running smoothy and looking great!

🛝🌳Our Parks team helps keep more than 50 city parks looking beautiful and ready for everything from morning walks to weekend soccer games. They maintain landscaping, inspect playgrounds, care for sports fields and courts, and help make sure our parks stay safe, clean, and community-ready year-round.

🚦🚧Our Streets & Signals team helps keep the city moving. From repairing potholes and sidewalks to maintaining traffic signals and street lights, they are constantly working behind the scenes to keep roads safe and traffic flowing smoothly. They also respond quickly to roadway debris and other issues throughout the city.

🏢🌊Our Aquatics & Facilities team keeps many of the city spaces residents use every day operating smoothly. They maintain community centers, libraries, city pools, fountains, and splash pads, helping ensure everything from swim lessons to story time can happen safely and without interruption.

Thank you to all of our Public Services staff for the important work you do for the community every day!

Happy National Public Works Week! 🚧👷🏻‍♀️

This week we recognize the dedicated teams who work behind the scenes to keep our community moving. Our Public Services, Engineering, and Transportation divisions support everything from parks and landscaping to streets, waste management, fleet services, facilities maintenance, traffic systems, infrastructure planning, and community improvements.

The work may look different from team to team, but the goal is the same: serving the community and helping make San Ramon a great place to live, work, and play.
