Thank you to Sanbornton Fire & Rescue for a quick response to smoke coming from our MSW compactor.
Just as a friendly reminder, propane tanks, rechargeable batteries, and used oil cannot go in the household trash.
The Transfer Station is now reopened for the day, hopefully without further incident 😬

2 updates for July 7th:
1) the household trash compactor has filled up. We will be using the spare 30 yard dumpster for trash for the remainder of the day.
2) the demo dumpster has filled up, so we will not be accepting anymore demo for the rest of the day.

Everything should be back to normal by Friday the 10th 😊

Just in case you aren't signed up to receive our Scoop from the Square newsletter via email or text (you should go do that), the Town Office is closed tomorrow but the Transfer Station will be open its regular Friday hours. The Transfer Station will be CLOSED on Saturday, July 4th.

Spring cleaning is upon us! In a matter of a day and a half the two demo dumpsters are full! That’s 70 cubic yards of demo in 14 hours 😳
We will not be able to accept anymore demo today.
With the holiday on Monday, we will not be able to have the waste hauled out before Tuesday, so we will not be accepting demo on Tuesday either.
The dumpsters will be emptied by Friday though 😊

This upcoming weekend (4/10 & 4/11) the brush piles will be closed.

We have a dedicated page on the transfer station portion of the town website that will have the most up to date information on the brush piles.
This page will not be frequently updated on if the brush piles are open or closed, so please check the website or call before bringing down brush.

Thank you for your understanding as we try to burn this brush as fast as Mother Nature and schedules allow!

Brush pile information: Brush can be no bigger than 4 inches diameter and no longer than 6 feet. If there's cones in front of a bunker, that means that the bunker is closed. ONE WEEK FROM TODAY marks the beginning of the Transfer Station’s new year-round hours!

Starting March 31st, the hours will be as follows:

Tuesday & Friday – 8am – 6pm
Saturday – 8am – 2pm

Due to the forecasted severely cold temperatures, the Transfer Station will be closed this Saturday, Jan. 24th.
It will be open from 7am to 8pm tomorrow, Friday the 23rd. Hopefully this gives people a chance to get there after work before hibernation begins.

A pop-up message has been put on the website homepage and noted on the Transfer Station’s page as well, but please let your neighbors know who may not get online that often.
