SCPD units responded to the 700 block of Dias Street to perform a probation compliance search. The search of Jayna KERSH' bedroom unveiled a Ruger .380 LCP handgun along with a short-barreled AR-15 style "ghost" rifle (no make, model, caliber, or serial number), several loaded .223 30-round magazines, additional live .223 rounds, holsters, and crystal methamphetamine/paraphernalia.

A ghost weapon is commonly built by an individual as opposed to a manufacturer. The required parts are ordered from a manufacturer, various manufacturers or via internet sites. Once assembled, the weapon should be registered in accordance with the law otherwise the weapon is untraceable.

KERSH was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

On Tuesday, December 17th, we collaborated with Target for the annual "Shop with a Cop" event. Several members of our agency volunteered (and sponsored) to shop with a group of children and their families to brighten the holidays.

This was an unforgettable evening and we are honored, humbled, and thankful for the opportunity to be apart of this joyous occasion.

The Carmel Police Officer's Association would like to offer its sincerest condolences to the family, friends, and co-workers of Deputy Brian Ishmael who was killed in the line of duty early this morning. Deputy Ishmael was a 4 year veteran of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office. A ride-along with Deputy Ishmael, who is a Deputy with another department, was also injured in the shooting but was treated and released from the hospital. Our prayers are with the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office and family of Brian. Rest In Peace Deputy Ishmael, we have the watch from here.....

SCPD Officer spotted a suspicious vehicle with tinted windows in the area of 990 Playa Avenue, McDonald's, and initiated an occupied vehicle check on Adrian CASTRO (beard) and front passenger Michael DAVIS III. The vehicles interior reeked of burnt marijuana and a subsequent search revealed a loaded/unregistered Glock 23 handgun concealed inside the glove compartment along with metal knuckles (driver-side door pocket). The firearm had a thirteen round magazine containing twelve .40 caliber rounds. CASTRO and DAVIS were both taken into custody for possession of a loaded/unregistered firearm, and CASTRO was additionally charged with possession of metal knuckles. CASTRO was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/24/19 (Photo #1), Matthew MARSH was arrested for two misdemeanor warrants charging theft and possession of a controlled substance. Marsh was additionally charged with possession of crystal methamphetamine.

8/27/19 (Photo #2), Felesha ADAMS was arrested for two misdemeanor warrants charging DUI and check fraud.

8/29/19 (Photo #3), SCPD Officer watched Cedric CHANDLER flick a lit cigarette onto the sidewalk. Chandler fled into a nearby liquor store and discarded a glass bottle of Xanax pills. Chandler was also charged with possession of crystal methamphetamine/black tar heroin.

8/29/19 (Photo #4), SCPD Officers were dispatched to a belligerent male yelling profanities at customers inside a nail salon. Christopher BURNS was subsequently arrested for public intoxication and lodged into Monterey County Jail.

9/6/19 (Photo #9), SCPD Officer noticed Omar VENEGAS stumbling in front of a closed business. Venegas is on felony probation stemming from a gang related conspiracy case. Venegas was arrested for public intoxication/probation violation and lodged into Monterey County Jail.

9/10/19 (Not depicted), Ignacio Lopez MARTINEZ was arrested for possession of a half+ ounce of crystal methamphetamine and out of county DUI warrant. Martinez was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

9/11/19 (Photo #10), Tresa BROWN was stopped for failing to activate her turn signal. Brown is on active probation-DUI conviction. Brown was arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine/probation violation.

9/7/2019, SCPD Officer spotted Wilmer "Smokey" ROBERTS Jr. on the upper floor of 2201 Del Monte Boulevard, Sealamp Inn. Roberts attempted entry into a room that belonged to a known guest with a key card to a different motel. Further investigation revealed Roberts had an outstanding traffic warrant. A search of his backpack led to the seizure of black tar heroin, several pieces of crack cocaine, operable digital scale set to grams, nearly two dozen plastic baggies, three mobile phones, and several hundred in cash. Roberts was booked for 11351 H&S, possession of a controlled substance for sale.

9/8/19, Jonathan CHAVEZ failed to yield and nearly collided with an SCPD unit. SCPD Officer subsequently performed a traffic enforcement stop and contacted CHAVEZ and front passenger, Danielle HERNANDEZ. Further investigation revealed numerous forged/blank medical scripts, various narcotics (Xanax & Hydrocodone), numerous social security numbers, fraudulent prescription refill/receipt documentation and 17 stolen driver's licenses corresponding with the crimes. Both admitted to utilizing forged medical scripts and the identities of various victims to purchase narcotics. Both were lodged into Monterey County Jail.

9/7/19, SPCD Officer contacted a familiar subject, Michael MONROE, in front of 1600 Canyon Del Rey Boulevard, Shell. While conversing with Monroe, SCPD Officer noticed crystal methamphetamine/plastic material protruding from a zipper pouch (plain-view) on the front passenger seat. Further investigation revealed over an ounce of crystal methamphetamine. Monroe was arrested for distribution of crystal methamphetamine and admitted to profiting from illegal drug sales. Monroe has several prior convictions and was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/16/2019, SCPD Officer was dispatched to a subject supine on the ground holding a can of "Endust Electronics Duster". Elver Deleon-OVALLE was contacted, admitted to inhaling the compressed gas and to abusing crystal methamphetamine. Ovalle was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/16/2019, SCPD Officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on active probationer, Keith HENRY, for tinted windows. A search of his vehicle yielded nearly an ounce of methamphetamine, packaging material, cash in various denominations, operable mobile phone and smoking paraphernalia. HENRY was charged with distribution of a controlled substance and lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/17/2019, SCPD Officer performed an occupied vehicle check on, Salvador SANTILLAN, Tioga Avenue (dark beachfront parking area). Further investigation revealed two outstanding misdemeanor warrants and possession of drug paraphernalia. Santillan was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/19/2019, SCPD Officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on, Andrea GOMEZ, for speeding/erratic driving. Gomez was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver license. Gomez provided breath samples double the legal limit and was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/21/2019, SCPD Officer performed a traffic enforcement stop on, Natasha BRACKEN, for a disobeying a red light coupled with other violations. Bracken was ultimately arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and provided breath samples over the legal limit. Bracken was later released into the custody of a sober acquaintance.

8/22/2019, SCPD Officer recognized wanted subject, Gregory ESCOBAR, from recent contacts/arrests loitering in front of a closed establishment. Escobar was swiftly arrested for an outstanding drug related warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.

8/23/2019, SCPD Officer recognized wanted subject, Miguel MARTINEZ, from numerous prior contacts/arrests. Martinez was roaming behind closed businesses and arrested for five outstanding warrants. Martinez was transported to Monterey County Jail, where he was additionally charged with knowingly bringing drugs (methamphetamine) into a jail facility.

This past Saturday, Officer Escobar and Reserve Officer Browning assisted Seaside PD with @exoticsonbroadway. During the event, both were greeted by 5x NBA champion & 2x Defensive Player of the Year, Dennis "The Worm" Rodman.

The event was a success, kudos to the City of Seaside and all the law enforcement personnel for a safe/memorable event ๐Ÿ˜Ž

8/9/2019, Josh GELLER was recognized as a wanted subject and subsequently arrested for two outstanding misdemeanor traffic warrants.

8/9/2019, SCPD Officer responded to Target and learned an employees bicycle had been stolen. Joey GRIFFIN, who is on probation (out of county) and out on bail for a felony matter was arrested for possession of stolen property (bicycle) and a probation violation.

8/10/2019, SCPD Officer contacted Ivan STUBBS in reference to a broken windshield. Further investigation revealed Stubbs provided a bogus name and absconded from parole. Stubbs was arrested for a felony parole warrant, possession of crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and false name. Stubbs was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/11/2019, SCPD initiated a traffic enforcement stop on Jeremiah COLE and Michael MCKINNEY for various violations. Cole was arrested for possession of black tar heroin and drug paraphernalia. Mckinney was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor drug warrant.

8/11/2019, SCPD Officer recognized wanted subject Joseph WINEMAN, who was accompanied by Veronica ALBARCA. Wineman was arrested for three outstanding misdemeanor warrants and possession of crystal methamphetamine. Albarca provided a false name and was arrested for a felony warrant (possession of stolen property) and possession of crystal methamphetamine. Both were lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/11/2019, SCPD Officer performed a traffic enforcement stop on Michael GONZALES (front passenger) for failure to signal. Further investigation revealed an ounce of crystal methamphetamine, quarter ounce of black tar heroin, U.S. currency in various denominations, packaging material, and two mobile phones. Gonzales was arrested for distribution of a controlled substance and lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/13/2019, Gabriel RUELAS was recognized as a wanted subject and arrested for three outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

8/15/2019, SCPD Officer contacted Carl WILLIAMS after he parked his vehicle illegally. Williams was later arrested for possession of crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

8/16/2019, Lanette GRAHAM was recognized as a wanted subject and subsequently arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant charging possession of a controlled substance.

8/16/2019, SCPD Officer spotted Elver Josue Deleon-OVALLE urinating in public. Ovalle was subsequently arrested for three out of county misdemeanor drug warrants.

8/6/2019, SCPD Officer performed a traffic enforcement stop on Terri WHEELER for expired registration. Further investigation revealed an outstanding felony warrant for grand theft. Wheeler was additionally charged with providing a false name, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of crack cocaine. Wheeler was lodged into Monterey County Jail.

8/7/2019, SCPD Officer spotted wanted subject David VILLALOBOS riding his bicycle in the 900 block of Playa Avenue without lighting equipment. Villalobos was swiftly arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor (drug) warrant.

8/8/2019, SCPD Officer spotted wanted subject Lavelle WALLACE in front of, 1600 Canyon Del Rey Boulevard, Shell. Wallace was arrested for multiple outstanding misdemeanor (drug) warrants, drug paraphernalia, possession of crystal methamphetamine, possession of a stolen Oregon DL, Visa debit card/Mastercard, and a probation violation.
