Virginia Bill (SB749) just passed and will be signed into law. It bans future sales of semiautomatic center-fire rifles, pistols, and magazines exceeding 15 rounds. There is a grandfather clause for current owners.

If Oregonians don't keep pushing back on local measures, we could see the same thing here. In Salem groups are fighting hard against these bills—let's keep that momentum.

These efforts will ensure Oregon stays a free state where American rights aren't trampled.

"The Second Amendment: is the enforcement clause for the First."

I'm pro-2A—full stop. My plan keeps Oregon safe without infringing on rights: 500 targeted cops, 1,000 treatment beds, fentanyl crackdown—all funded by cutting federal waste. No new taxes. No lobbyist money.

Some in this primary want to talk resumes, titles, and who has the "right" credentials.

I want to talk results for Oregon families.
I'm a born-and-raised Oregon dad, former small-business owner—living the same struggles you do every day. No fancy degrees needed to fight for lower costs, safer streets, and jobs back in our mills.

My pledge: No lobbyist money. No new taxes. Cut $746M federal waste for real help—500 new cops, 1,000 treatment beds, 5,700 affordable homes.

Oregon doesn't need more Washington insiders with titles. We need a Senator who puts our families first.

In full transparency: The Oregon Voters' Pamphlet charges candidates $3,000 just to include a statement in the booklet that reaches every household.

That's more than my grassroots campaign can afford right now.

So here's my full statement anyway. This is who I am and what I'll fight for in Washington.

Timothy Skelton

Occupation: Armed Security Professional

Occupational Background: Former Small Business Owner Triple L Barbecue Customer Service and Reserve Police Officer

Educational Background: Sandy High School 2000 and Mt Hood Community College AA 2006

Prior Governmental Experience: None

Tim Skelton – Republican for U.S. Senate

I'm Tim Skelton, a born-and-raised working-class Oregonian from Sandy—Father of 3 and husband to my amazing wife Jesica, Community Volunteer, and former small-business owner tired of career politicians ignoring Oregon families.

For 17+ years, Jeff Merkley has been in Washington, accepting hundreds of thousands in lobbyist contributions while costs for gas, housing, and groceries keep rising. Oregonians deserve better: a Senator who puts our state first, not D.C. insiders or special interests.

My Oregon Matters Plan delivers real results—funded by cutting $746 million in federal waste (starting with $88 million in outdated corporate timber subsidies)—no new taxes, ever.

- Forests for Tomorrow: 1,200 wildfire-thinning jobs with tribal crews and drones, 20% lower fire risk, revenue back to local mills.
- Stronger Classrooms: 1,500 new teachers, 10,000 tutors and mentors, expanded school choice, age-appropriate health education.
- Jobs for Today: 3,200 good-paying trades, green tech, and coastal jobs, with $120 million returned to communities.
- Affordable Homes: 5,700 new units (urban, rural, modular, tribal) through zoning fixes to bring prices toward $485,000.
- Oregon Safety & Relief: 500 new cops, 1,000 treatment beds, fentanyl crackdown, grocery and fuel credits for families.

I support secure borders (SAVE Act, prosecute illegal crossings, local-ICE cooperation on criminals), practical energy, protecting pre-existing conditions, and putting Oregon workers first.

My pledge: No lobbyist money. Two terms maximum. My vote will always belong to Oregonians—never for sale.

Senate Democrats just said "NO WAY" to protecting kids from dirty needles near schools.

They killed SB 1573—a bipartisan bill with broad support—to stop needle distribution within 2,000 feet of schools/childcare. Parents and neighbors begged for it; Dems ignored them.

This is why Oregon needs real safety leadership. My Oregon Matters Plan funds:
• 500 new cops
• 1,000 treatment beds
• Fentanyl crackdown
• Grocery/fuel credits for families

All zero-cost—no new taxes on you.

Kids deserve safe walks to school, not biohazards.

"Smart Forestry Can Prevent Forest Fires – It's Time to Act"

The feds want to open 2.5 million acres in western Oregon to logging. That could mean jobs and timber revenue—if it's done right.

But here's the truth: massive wildfires aren't inevitable. They can be prevented with smart forestry practices—thinning overgrown stands, prescribed burns, camp fire management, and drone-assisted management. These methods reduce fuel loads, lower fire intensity, protect watersheds, and save lives and property.

After 17+ years of Jeff Merkley and 44+ years of Ron Wyden in Washington, we've seen more megafires, more smoke, more devastation—not less. Talk hasn't stopped the infernos.

My Forests for Tomorrow plan does:

- End $88 million in outdated corporate timber subsidies that don't help local mills or families.
- Redirect to hire 1,200 wildfire-thinning jobs (tribal crews + drones).
- Achieve 20% lower fire risk across treated areas.
- Save $500 million in future suppression costs.
- Put revenue back into local mills, ranches, and communities.

Smart forestry isn't a dream. It's proven. It's practical. It's Oregon-first.

Time to stop the cycle of destruction and start protecting what we love.

Oregon wildfires have impacted so many Oregonians-lost homes, evacuations, smoke making it hard to breathe. I'd like to hear some of your stories and how you bravely came over the ordeal. Comment below or DM if desired, I'm here to listen.

Merkley warns about authoritarianism in the White House, yet refuses to retire and let younger generations take the helm. That's not just hypocritical—it's the very entrenchment they claim to oppose.

Oregon's senators prove the point:
Merkley — 17+ years in D.C.
Wyden — 44+ years combined in Congress

That's not leadership. That's careerism. Decades in power while Oregon families face skyrocketing housing, wildfires, fentanyl, and failing schools.

I'm pledging two terms maximum if elected. No kingdoms. No lobbyist money. Just service to Oregon families.

Fresh voices. Real change. Oregon first.

Should politicians step aside after a couple terms? Or keep clinging to power?

Merkley and Wyden criticized cuts to SNAP and Medicaid in their town hall, saying they favor billionaires over struggling families.

Here’s the reality: Federal programs like SNAP and Medicaid have billions in improper payments and waste every year. After 17+ years for Merkley and 44+ years for Wyden in Congress, they’ve had plenty of time to clean it up—and haven’t.

My approach is different. I don’t defend endless spending. I audit and recover waste so we can redirect those dollars to real Oregon priorities—without raising taxes on families.

Time for Tim.

Merkley and Wyden said we need year-round work for seasonal firefighters and expanded prescribed burns to prevent 'infernos.' Good ideas.

But after 17+ years for Merkley and 44+ for Wyden in Congress, wildfires still devastate Oregon—millions of acres burned, billions lost, smoke choking our air.

Talk is cheap. Action matters.

My Forests for Tomorrow plan delivers: End $88 million in outdated corporate timber subsidies. Hire 1,200 local thinning jobs (tribal crews + drones). Reduce fire risk 20%. Save $500 million in suppression costs. Put revenue back to mills and communities.

Oregon needs results, not more decades of the same.

Merkley and Wyden called ICE 'secret police' in their town hall and criticized their actions in Portland, saying agents operate without warrants or ID.

Facts matter. The January 2026 Portland shooting involved two Venezuelan nationals suspected of Tren de Aragua gang ties and fleeing arrest. DHS says the vehicle was used as a weapon. The case is under FBI investigation.

After 17+ years in the Senate, Merkley opposes local-ICE cooperation on serious criminals. That’s not protecting Oregonians—that’s protecting politics.

I support local law enforcement working with ICE on serious offenders—no sanctuary for criminals. Oregon families deserve safety, not excuses.

02/25/2026

Senators Merkley and Wyden called the SAVE Act 'voter suppression' and a 'sinister ploy' in their latest town hall. They claim it creates unnecessary hurdles and targets women.

Let’s be clear: The SAVE Act simply requires proof of citizenship (birth certificate, passport, etc.) to register for federal elections—something that’s already illegal for non-citizens to do.

After 17+ years for Merkley and 44+ for Wyden in Congress, they’ve had decades to secure our elections and fight dark money. Instead, they defend lax systems while Oregonians worry about integrity.

I support the SAVE Act. Secure borders, prosecute illegal crossings, and make sure only citizens vote in our elections. No suppression—just common-sense enforcement.

Time for Tim.

A voter commented: "I prefer someone with experience in D.C."

I respect that concern—it's honest. But let's call it what it is.

After 17+ years of Jeff Merkley and 44+ years for Ron Wyden in DC, that so-called "experience" has left Oregon families crushed by housing costs up $200K, forests burning, fentanyl killing our citizens, and classrooms failing our children.

Decades in power. Trillions spent. Endless promises. And what do we have? The same broken system, the same insider deals, the same lobbyist influence protecting the powerful while working Oregonians suffer.

That's not experience—that's entrenchment. That's why my complete lack of D.C. experience is not a weakness—it's Oregon's greatest advantage.

- Fresh Eyes that refuse to accept "that's just how Washington works."

- No corruption from decades of special-interest money—my vote is yours alone, not for sale to lobbyists or PACs.

- Real Oregon life as my only credential: Oregon dad raising three kids, living paycheck-to-paycheck, volunteering in our communities. I live the struggles you're facing—I haven't just voted on them from 3,000 miles away.

- Zero-cost plan that actually works: Cut $746M in federal waste (no new taxes, ever) to deliver jobs, homes, safety, forests, and classrooms. Because I'm not chained to the old guard's failures.

D.C. tenure hasn't delivered justice for Oregon—it's protected the powerful and ignored the people. It's time to break the cycle.

If Oregon wants more of the same, keep the career politicians. But if you're ready for "unprecedented change"—someone uncorrupted, uncompromised, and unafraid to fight for families over the system—I'm your candidate.

Time for Tim.

Sen. Jeff Merkley posted this on Presidents Day:

'America does not have and has never had kings. Happy Presidents Day!'

He's right—America has no kings.
But the Senate sure does have a lot of long-reigning royals.

Jeff Merkley: 17+ years in D.C. (after 10 in Salem).
Ron Wyden: Over 44 years in Congress combined.

That's decades of the same faces while Oregon families deal with housing up $200K, wildfire threats, fentanyl on our streets, and overcrowded classrooms. Career politicians who've had their shot—and haven't fixed it.

If Oregon gives me the honor, I'd serve two terms max and then step aside for fresh voices and younger generations.

I'm not a royal. I'm not beholden to lobbyists. My vote belongs to Oregonians—not special interests. And I'll never sell it.

My Oregon Matters Plan is zero-cost to you: funded by cutting $746 million in federal waste (no new taxes, ever), delivering real results for forests, jobs, homes, classrooms, and safety.

Oregon needs leaders who work for all of us—not D.C. insiders who've turned the Senate into their personal kingdom.
