Today, we honor the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for our nation.

I was able to attend the City of Buena Park’s Memorial Day Service and provide an update on the progress of the OC Veterans Cemetery and pay my respects to those who have fallen. May their sacrifice and memory be remembered with honor and gratitude.

Additional evacuation centers were opened last night to accommodate residents. I urge our community to listen to all emergency response officials and continue to stay vigilant. I want to thank all our emergency response officials here for their work in protecting our residents and responding to this unprecedented crisis.

On Saturday, I attended OC EidFest at the OC Fair and Event Center.

The event was filled with carnival rides, games, entertainment, speciality food, and family activities. I was honored to speak at the event and provide a Board proclamation to the organizers. It was great to see the community coming together to celebrate and connect.

Last Tuesday, Office Ambassador Paulette Chaffee and I attended the 2026 Families and Communities Together (FaCT) Annual Conference.

This year’s theme, Moving Forward Together, celebrated the power of community collaboration to create stronger, more inclusive communities. The conference featured valuable resources and inspiring speakers that sparked meaningful conversation beyond the conference itself. FaCT has over 15 Family Resource Centers in Orange County, and this year’s conference had over 400 attendees. This organization works to meet struggling families where they are at and supports families and individuals with disabilities.

It was a pleasure to speak at the conference, and thank you to Families and Communities Together for providing invaluable support and resources to Fourth District families and residents!

May is Foster Care Month.

The County of Orange Social Services Agency, Children & Family Services, supports over 3,000 children and youth in foster care, connecting them with safe, stable homes with compassionate caregivers, extended family members, foster families and adoptive families. By extending love and compassion that each child deserves, our foster youth are given a chance to reach their full potential by becoming our future innovators and leaders.

Thank you to the SSA staff, and all the families involved in the foster care system, encouraging their success and potential. To support our foster children or if you are interested in becoming a resource family, visit www.OC4Kids.com.
