Last night, we gathered in front of the Santa Cruz County Courthouse for a powerful Candlelight Vigil — and the light we held together meant everything.
Hosted by the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office and the Victim Witness Advocacy Program, this evening was a reminder that no one should have to grieve alone. We stood side by side in solidarity with every family who has lost a loved one to crime — honoring their memory, acknowledging their pain, and reaffirming our commitment to justice and healing in our community.
A special moment of the evening was the beautiful live music performed by local artist Chas Crowder, whose playing moved us all deeply. Thank you, Chas, for sharing your talent and your heart with our community that night.
To those who attended, thank you for showing up. To those carrying this grief — we see you, we stand with you, and you are not alone.
