Starting the day off with speaking to the students at Del Norte High School! We had some great conversations about housing, data centers, and the impacts of social media on our youth.

Yesterday, AB 1761 passed the Assembly floor with bipartisan support! This bill is about adding more transparency to the power charge indifference adjustment, a complicated and often secretive process. By ensuring parties have access to necessary data, there will be better long term planning and potential affordability.

We have officially broken ground on the SMART Station in Healdsburg!

This is a huge milestone for our communities in the North Bay. The SMART train provides affordable transportation, promotes our regional economy, and broadens advancement opportunities, all while uniting our communities in Sonoma and Marin.

Indigenous people, specifically women and girls, are disproportionately affected by violence in the United States.

Earlier this week, we presented AB 1984 in the Assembly’s Banking and Finance Committee. This legislation is designed to mitigate the aftermath of Citizens United by restricting unlimited corporate spending in our elections.

While the bill won’t be receiving a vote this year, I remain committed to addressing the fundamental issue behind this bill. Nearly 80% of Americans believe dark money has corrupted our politics, and I’m proud to have put forward this legislation with the support of a dozen of my colleagues to finally get money out of our politics here in California.
