🚨 Ready, Set, ShakeOut!

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 15, at 10:15 a.m., Santee School District schools will participate in the Great California ShakeOut! 🌎 (Great job to PRIDE students and staff who completed the drill this morning!)

Students and staff will practice earthquake safety procedures, including DROP, COVER, and HOLD ON, as well as shelter-in-place and evacuation procedures.

📱 Emergency Notification Test: During the drill, we will also test our ParentSquare emergency communication system. Primary guardians will receive a test phone call, text, email, and app notification (if they have the app). No action is needed!

💙 We encourage families to talk with their children about earthquake safety and the importance of being prepared.

📢 Community Notice

Over the next week, Santee School District will be testing the paging and speaker systems at our school campuses. During these tests, you may hear announcements, tones, or other sounds coming from our schools. If you notice any unusual noise, please do not be alarmed—these are planned system tests.

Additionally, on July 14 and July 17, the San Diego Sheriff's Office will be conducting training exercises at select District campuses. You may notice law enforcement vehicles and personnel on site during these trainings. These are scheduled training activities only, and there is no threat to our schools or community.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to maintain safe and prepared learning environments.
