🎲➕ Math Game of the Month: Which One Doesn’t Belong?

Make math fun at home with a game the whole family can play! Look at a group of numbers, shapes, or images and decide: Which one doesn’t belong?

The fun part? There may be more than one right answer! The goal is to get kids talking, reasoning, and explaining why they made their choice.

Each month, we’ll share a new math game families can try together at home.

🏫 Measure BB: What You Need to Know in Under 60 Seconds

Measure BB is NOT a new tax. It would not increase the current tax rate or extend the existing repayment period.

Many of our school facilities are 50–70 years old, with critical infrastructure nearing the end of its useful life.

🎥 Watch to learn more about Measure BB and what it could mean for Santee School District.

🏠➕ Try this at home!

You don’t have to know the method your child is learning to help them with math. Instead of immediately showing them how to solve a problem, get curious about their thinking!

Try asking:
💬 What do you notice?
💬 What have you tried so far?
💬 Can you show me how you were thinking about it?
💬 Is there another way you could solve it?

Sometimes the best way to help is simply to ask questions and let your child do the thinking. 🧠✨
