🚨WILTON VOTERS DESERVE ANSWERS ON SUPERVISOR STURM’S TAX COMMENTS 🚨

Wilton Town Supervisor Toni Sturm is facing new scrutiny after comments made to NEWS10 following the recent tornado damage in Wilton.

Sturm told the outlet that the town is struggling to fund debris cleanup because Wilton doesn't collect property taxes and largely relies on Saratoga County — comments that insinuate the need for a new town tax on Wilton residents.

This comes as Wilton sits on an unallocated fund balance of nearly $20 million — reserves that former Town Councilman John McEachron, currently running for supervisor in Wilton, says were built specifically to help residents in moments like this. Rather than drawing on those reserves, Sturm has instead gone to the county asking for help covering storm cleanup costs.

Wilton residents should ask why a supervisor sitting on a nearly $20 million surplus is talking about new taxes instead of using the resources the town already has. Saratoga County families are already stretched thin — they don't need a new town tax on top of it.

STATEMENT FROM THE SARATOGA COUNTY CONSERVATIVE PARTY

At Monday night’s Malta Town Board meeting, Supervisor Cynthia Young referred to a resident who came forward during public comment as a “bad penny” - and understand that this is defined as an unwanted or disreputable person who shows up time and time again.

This wasn’t just any resident. This is a Malta taxpayer who previously fought Town Hall over actions affecting her farmland and was forced to spend thousands of her own hard-earned dollars on an attorney to defend herself and her property — and ultimately prevailed.

Now, when she continues to show up and voice concerns about her community, the Town Supervisor calls her a “bad penny.”

Residents should be able to question their government, defend their property, and speak at a public meeting without being belittled by the person elected to represent them.

The video speaks for itself.

Calling a concerned taxpayer a “bad penny” isn’t leadership. It’s disrespectful, dismissive, and beneath the office of Town Supervisor.

Our party will always be the party of free speech, respect, and transparency.

On November 3rd, vote for Tim Moseman for Malta Town Supervisor to restore transparency and affordability in Malta.
