Saugus Safer Streets

Saugus Safer Streets A Neighborhood Watch, also called Crime Watch, is an organized group of citizens devoted to crime prevention within a Neighborhood. It takes you!!!

Description
Neighborhood Watch program or group in which residents keep watch over one another's property and loved ones, keep track of anything unusual going on in the community, etc., in an attempt to prevent crime, also work with the local Police Dept. Why Do We Need a Neighborhood Watch? It is obvious that the police cannot be everywhere and see everything. The police need us to be their eyes

and ears when they are not around. We need to call the police when we see a crime take place or suspicious activity in our neighborhood. We know what suspicious activity is because we live in the neighborhood. Most of the crime that takes place in a neighborhood the police cannot make an arrest without you being a witness to the crime and for the victim to make a formal complaint. It takes a neighborhood to get involved. Important Message
Our Neighborhood Watch does not promote vigilantism. You are never asked to put yourselves in harm's way to prevent crime or encouraged to 'catch a thief' by luring them. You should only observe and report suspicious activities to the Police Department. This leaves the responsibility for confronting and apprehending criminals where it belongs-with Saugus Police Department.
