A huge shout out to the Unit One Voters! Chi Miigwech from the bottom of my heart... I won! Thank you for putting your trust in me. I will work hard for you all, for all tribal members, wherever you live.

Chi Miigwech to both Sheila and Nichole who congratulated me last night on the win. Three strong women who all love their Tribe!

Thanks to everyone who reached out to me, too many to mention. I hope I got back to you all, it was my intention today. That is what I have been doing, started last night and today, thanking everyone for their support.

Thanks to the Board Members who sent me messages: Bridgett, Lana, Michael, Shawn, Isaac, and Austin. Sure appreciate those.

Thanks to our former Board Members: Kim, DJ, Keith, Jennifer, Cathy.

Truly, can't wait to start working with our Board.

I was going to save this, but there is some that I cannot thank emough.

My family... I mean all 156 of us, plus 3! lol. Starting with Freddie, my heart, my dream boat. He is the best! My brothers and sisters...

My kids... I have no words.. although I do wish we had a camera on us for funniest bloopers!

Want to do a shout out to Mike Menard. Mike sent me a message very early on and did not let up! not once! Chi Miigwech Mike, you are one true friend.

Fred, Freddie, Megan, MacKenzie.. my videographers, back ground checkers, etc.. JoJo my personal photographer, Jena my driver for signs... I know that I am missing people, everyone in my family sent me people to put signs in their yards, everyone reached out and spread the word that I was running and what I could bring to the table.

If you all can make Tuesday, March 7th meeting, it sure would be appreciated. The resolutions regarding changing up the Special Advisory Elections are on the agenda.

This Board continues to not follow our tribal codes, our laws. That is a removable offense. It is passed time for the membership to hold our Board Members feet to the fire.

So how did the ballots get mailed out? Not by the Election Committee and volunteers. The mailing of the ballots were outsourced. Pretty sure it was outsourced by the Board. Back in the day, only the Board could have made that decision. Hmmm....now they don't like it!

Anyone surprised about the resolutions for the March 7th meeting? Wow! A new election for the Unit One vacant seat! Kind of crazy since the Board of Directors directed the Election Committee to outsource the mailing of the ballots. But I guess the Board changed their minds.

Since it looks like we are having a new election, I say we have a new tribal Chairman election too. Let's just get it done! Chairman and Unit One. Hold the primary too. That way if you want to run in the Chair's seat and the unit seat, you can. You get to make the decision after the primary votes are counted to which seat you really want.

Let's do it!

So I went to Tuesday's Board meeting, sorry to report the Sault Tribe has a rogue Board! Right now the majority on the Board will not follow tribal law. They are not following any policies and procedures.

They are making motions instead of resolutions so that their decisions can not be contested! So that the membership can not utilize their constitutional right to referendum.

There has to be change.

Do the right thing, even when no one is looking. It is called Integrity.

Wow, I read that just before I started to write. I have had so many calls, texts, and contacts that want me to address Aaron Payment's personal attacks on Facebook.

In the words of Tony Nertoli, an Elder who has walked, once asked Aaron.... "Aaron, I have no idea what I have ever done to you, what I have done to make you dislike me, make you attack me, attack my family".

If these personal attacks are because it's politics, wow. Talk about deafening! Possibly I am too naive to think that we can get back to respect and honesty in our tribal elections. That is exactly, what I am trying to do. That is exactly why I am running. One step at a time.

Attack me Aaron. Don't attack my family, most especially do not attack the matriarch of our family. Do not attack our Elders of our families. You are attacking one of the most treasured Elders in our Tribe, the sqme treasured Elder that has sat in the same seat for over 4 decades of tribal elections! Including your elections Aaron. All of your elections. Wins and losses.

Started with Tribe over 32 years ago in 1991 and retired this last November. Not much of a criminal history, minus two tickets - one for speeding and another for hitting a parked car in a parking lot in 1972, maybe 1973?

Open book...nothing to hide.

Sorry I have not posted for a bit... I had a locked neck/sprained neck! One more trip to the chiropractor and I should be good.

Accountability / Transparency.

How can I address accountability and transparency for myself or others, if no one knows my background. So I have decided that I am going to post my background information. I will black out the addresses, only because they are Navy Housing and military families live in them. This may take a while, since I don't have a scanner but I will get access to one.

I think that the Election Code needs to change and add that all candidates have to disclose their background check information. The voters have a right to know who they are voting for, before the Election.

There is a lot of talk out there, rumors, that so and so was arrested, that so and so did not disclose certain information before they were elected.

So let's add it to the Election Code. I am all for releasing the background check information that is required by the Election Committee before the Election.

Hey just a quick note on Tuesday, Feb 7 Board Meeting agenda. We must have come into some money, cause we sure are spending it! Two more forensic audits and looks to be splitting the HR Department! Couldn't find what they were looking for so lets spend more money. I mean, an $88 MM lawsuit isn't enough? When are we going to stop the frivolous spending?

Splitting the HR Department, come on, been there, done that. It did not work! Accountability is what our Tribe needs. And is sure does start at the TOP! Actually, I don't think it does. We are going to go down the rabbit hole and blame someone else.
