The Northeast Remnant is a proud Garrison of the 501st Legion serving the New Jersey area. Our members strive to create costumes which reflect the realism of those seen in the movies of the Star Wars saga. We then take those costumes and put them to good use, bringing the Star Wars universe off of the big screen to help the communities we live in. The Northeast Remnant can be seen at many conventions and Star Wars related events in the NJ/NY area, but we do hold a special place in our hearts for charity. We enjoy great relationships with charity organizations both big and small. If you would like to join, or require the help of the Empire’s finest, then feel free to contact us! It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that the Northeast Remnant Garrison announces the passing of our brother, James Hannon, TI-6799.

James was a dedicated member of the 501st Legion, consistently bringing passion, camaraderie, and dedication to our community. Whether he was bringing Star Wars to life for fans, supporting local charity events, or standing shoulder-to-shoulder with his fellow troopers, James embodied the very best of what it means to be a member of the Legion.

He left an indelible mark on everyone who had the honor of trooping alongside him, and his absence will be deeply felt across the galaxy.
We extend our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to his family, loved ones, and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

James was also known for taking selfie photos with everyone he knew. In his honor and memory, we ask you to share a selfie that you’ve taken recently with someone or one that you may have taken with James.

Rest in peace and buckets off, trooper. You will never be forgotten.

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Northeast Remnant member Matt Dunlop (SL-41772).

Matt originally began his journey with the 501st Legion in 2016 as a dedicated member of the Empire City Garrison. In January 2023, we were fortunate to officially welcome him into our ranks here in the Northeast Remnant Garrison. Beyond his commitment to our home garrison, Matt was a pillar of the local costuming community, actively contributing his passion and talents to several other Star Wars organizations across the Tri-State area.

Matt’s kindness, dedication, and far-reaching impact left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of trooping alongside him. He will be deeply and sorely missed by his galactic family.

He is one with the Force, and the Force is with him.

The troopers of the and Rebels of were out in full force this very busy Star Wars weekend! Ementary schools, libraries, children's hospitals, relay for life, free comic book days, and conventions! 15 events were supported from May 1st through May 5th!

Today, the Northeast Remnant Garrison would like to recognize a momentous occasion! Our very own TK-8869 participated in his 501st troop! What makes this extra special is that he also trooped this particular event continously since 2007! Here's to 501 more troops to come!!

And yes, there were cupcakes to celebrate!
