This week's Taco Tuesday is brought to you by

With a bright, lively atmosphere and new twists on old favorites (the brussels sprout nachos are a *must try*) this is one of my Scottsdale favorites for tacos and drinks.

Did you know that Guest Services holds packages for guests?

Here are some tips for shipping times to the hotel:

1) Don't ship items too early. This is a courtesy to the staff. They may have limited storage so only ship a day or two in advance.

2) Call ahead to let them know and give a tracking number. This will help them find it amongst the hundreds of items delivered to a hotel.

3) Address your package with your name and arrival date, then the resort's address. This will alert the team that this package is for a guest's arrival, not a staff member or meeting planner.

Happy Mural Monday!

Today's Mural is in one of my favorite restaurants Dilla Libre. (Like Quesa"dilla")

Just like the mural says, they really area the "Dilla Champs".

These quesadillas are life changing!

On Mondays they have 1/2 price margaritas!

Go check them out! Grab a dilla and a pic with one of their awesome murals while you're there.

So what exactly is "Monsoon Season"?

Monsoon Season takes place between June 15 and Sept. 30. (Yep, in it right now!)

Monsoons are like thunderstorms but are usually shorter and very intense. There can be a lot of lightning as well.

We also see more dust storms this time of year because of the high winds and dry climate.

Another thing about that dry desert ground, it doesn't drain very well, so we actually get a lot of flooding in Arizona.

If you get stuck in a monsoon, don't drive! Pull over!

Also, don't drive through any of the flooding. Cars get washed away all the time thinking the water isn't deep enough to wash their car off the road. We have a "Stupid Motorist" Law since it happens so frequently.

More reasons to book your hotel rooms direct...

1) When the housekeeping team knows when you are arriving, they can prioritize your room and there is a better chance that it will be ready for your arrival. Of course, if you are arriving early, or the person before you had a late check out this makes things more difficult. Nothing is ever guaranteed, but it really helps them to know when you are coming

2) Let the staff know you are celebrating! They are called "Hospitality professionals" for a reason! They love to make vacations special for the guests. This doesn't mean that they will send you a bunch of free stuff, but usually there will be some acknowledgement even if just in the form of a card.

Happy Mural Monday!

Today's Mural is in one of my favorite shops, the Merchantile.

Located in Old Town Scottsdale, the Merchantile is an indoor market featuring booths from local vendors. You can get just about anything there.

It is my favorite spot to go for unique gifts and to support local businesses.

They also host art and crafting events.

There are lots of beautiful murals in Phoenix and Scottsdale.

It's true, the desert is home to a lot of critters. And as much as people love the look of desert landscape, they are always surprised when critters show up at the hotel or rental.

It's important to remember that these critters are usually looking for water or a place to escape the harsh desert weather (very hot or very cold).

Some tips for critters at the hotel:
1) Keep your patio doors shut. Critters love a shaded patio, and they will come inside for that nice air conditioning if your door is open. A rattlesnake on the patio is bad enough, you don't want one in your room.

2) Call the front desk or security immediately to have the critter removed. Remember, this is actually pretty normal so they have experience in this area.

3) Do NOT take pictures with it or try to move it yourself. Most of the time these critters are fine if left alone and but desert creatures can be dangerous and they may attack if startled.
