Today, on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, we stand together to raise awareness about a serious issue affecting millions of older adults worldwide.

Approximately 1 in 6 adults age 60 and older experience some form of abuse each year. Many cases go unreported, leaving vulnerable individuals isolated and without suppport.

Everyone deserves to age with dignity, respect, and safety.

By learning the signs, checking in on loved ones, and speaking up when something feels wrong, we can help protect members of our community and create a safer future for all. 💜

Because of your incredible generosity during NEPA Gives, we raised more than $18,000 to support the mission of Meals on Wheels of NEPA!

Your donations will help provide nutritious meals, wellness checks, social connection, and supportive services to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Thanks to your support, we are able to help feed 3,000 people throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.

At Meals on Wheels of NEPA, we are more than a meal. We work every day to help individuals remain nourished, safe, connected, and independent in their own homes through meal delivery and community support programs. Over the past several years, our organization has continued to grow to meet the evolving needs of our region, serving thousands of individuals and providing hundreds of thousands of meals every year.

We are also excited to begin a new chapter as we prepare for our move to Cherry Street in South Scranton. This new space will allow us to continue expanding our services and strengthen our ability to serve our community for years to come.

To every donor, volunteer, advocate, and supporter: thank you for believing in our mission and helping us make a difference every single day.

Meals on Wheels would like to thank everyone for an absolutely amazing NEPA Gives Day 2026! We have surpassed our goal of $15,000 by raising a total of $17,986, which will feed about 3,000 of our vulnerable neighbors! We are truly so thankful for the support, not just the last 24 hours, but through the rest of the year. 💚
