Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron ELEVEN (MAREXSECRON 11) is a unit of the United Stated Navy within the organizational structure of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC). The white field symbolizes the purity in the heart of the expeditionary warrior - fighting with Honor, Courage, and Commitment as his guide. The centerpiece is a shark - the symbol of inshore undersea warfare which
became naval coastal warfare and presently the Maritime Expeditionary Security Force. The shark has represented our force for over 20 years and is worn on the left breast pocket of every MESF sailor. The three lightning bolts represent out anti-terrorism/force protection command, control, and communications capabilities
The trident represents the three operational entities of our squadron: command, control and communications; plus our defensive forces - a triad of Maritime Expeditionary Boat Detachments and a triad of Maritime Expeditionary Security Detachments. The golden anchor symbolizes the Naval tradition of steadfast strength that weathers the storm. The large number eleven represents the fighting spirit of the Fighting ELEVEN
The warfare pin located at the bottom of the crest is worn by those who have attained the qualification of the Expeditionary Warfare Specialist. It represents the Mind, Body and Spirit of our very best Expeditionary Warriors.
