After notifying the family, the White County Sheriff’s Office is sharing that a search for Brian Waggle was conducted this morning on Rio Vista Road by deputies of the Sheriff’s Office with coordinating support provided by White County Search and Rescue. At approximately 9:00 AM deputies discovered remains consistent with the description of Brian Waggle. The remains will be transferred to the State Crime Lab for official identification and to determine the exact cause of death. While this investigation remains open pending results from the crime lab, we do not believe there is any threat to the community of White County.

There has been an uptick in people receiving scam calls in our county. The White County Sheriff’s Office will never ask for gift cards or payments by phone for any fines or fees. These scams can be in the form of missed jury duty or failing to appear in court. No matter what the scenario is, it ultimately comes down to them requesting money. If you ever receive a call from someone claiming to represent law enforcement and they are requesting money always hang up and call that department or local law enforcement agency.
