Cars for Homes: Recycling junk cars | Habitat for Humanity Int'l

Know a friend who's moved to the city and no longer needs a car? Or how about a family member who bought a new car and is looking to easily get rid of the old clunker? Maybe your neighbor’s daughter just went off to college and her sedan is now just sitting on the curb. Share this link and encourage your loved ones to donate their car to Habitat, so we can build more homes for families in need.

Habitat’s Cars for Homes can take your old car and help recycle it to generate funds to help build more homes locally in 2014. Find out how you can donate today.

Did you know that Monterey County Habitat for Humanity accepts car donations? Habitat’s Cars for Homes helps use funds from your donated vehicle to continue building homes with partner families locally.

This holiday season, give the gift of your car donation and help Monterey Habitat build homes locally with families in need of decent housing:

Car donations are another way to support the mission of Habitat for Humanity. When you donate a car to Cars for Homes, you will help your local Habitat for Humanity build and rehabilitate houses with families in need of affordable shelter.

The Monterey County Weekly has started its annual "Monterey Gives!" campaign, and Habitat for Humanity is proud to be a featured Nonprofit. In addition to our ongoing support of community housing, our "Big Idea" this year is our collaboration with the Veteran’s Transition Center in Marina, to build a Community Center for homeless veterans and their families.

"Monterey Gives!" is a great way to help focus your charitable giving to best help the county and its residents. Won't you take a minute to look over Habitat's web page at "Monterey Gives!" ?

As they say, "Many hands make light work." We need MANY of your able hands (and legs and backs...) this week at the ReStore.
We need strong, energetic people to help with loading and unloading some HEAVY items.
This Tuesday and Wednesday (October 1st and 2nd)
We need a few heavy lifters to help move windows, doors, cabinets and various other items. (All day -9-4)

On Thursday, October 3rd

(start time 10 am ) We need at least 4 people to be at our 840 Fir Ave. location (the ReStore) to help us lift a heavy fountain into the back of our truck. We will load the truck and then unload in Carmel. ( Not a long task because it is assembled in 4 pieces.)

Dearly, we would love (NEED) you strong helpers to follow us to a location in Pebble Beach, collect a heavy fireplace, then follow us back to warehouse to unload.

Please call our ReStore Manager, Deanna at (831) 272-4830, or email [email protected] and let us know if you can help.

The Veterans Transition Center & Monterey County Habitat for Humanity invite you to visit the future site for the Veterans Community Center.

Friday September 27th, from 12pm to 3pm.
VTC Offices - 220 12th St. Marina

Please arrive by 11:45am. There will be a shuttle to the worksite for tours, refreshments and festivities.
