This time last year, Stop the Bug was born from a need to get masks to healthcare workers. Started by a first responder, with many wonderful volunteers joining, we worked 80 hour weeks without pay to help get masks, hand sanitizer, gowns, and more to those in need.

During that time we joined with Dr. Ferguson in the cause to get disposable isolation gowns to our first responders, as the county had run completely out.

Tonight, one year later, Dr. Ferguson and I celebrated all of the good work done from our hometown, and he blessed us at Stop the Bug in our continued good works. Stop the Bug has distributed over 20,000 masks, free of charge, to those in need.

This week we sent out masks to various tribes, including Blackfeet and Colville. Stop the Bug is proud to have sent over 559,000 masks (plus face shields, hand sanitizer, and more) to tribal nations across the country! We support tribal and First Nations, and we are honored to provide on this way.

This week Stop the Bug donated to Union Gospel Shelter Seattle: approx. 150 masks, and 100 medical face shields. We have donated thousands of items to Union Gospel Mission.

Here’s what they do: 11,751 of our neighbors in the greater Seattle area are homeless. Every night, Search + Rescue vans drive to the darkest places in the greater Seattle area to hand out life-saving supplies and care to men and women.

Volunteers give wool blankets, food, water, masks, and other supplies to our homeless neighbors and offer them the opportunity to come inside for a night of safe shelter at the Mission.

Today we delivered over 1,000 masks and four cases of hand sanitizer to White Center Food Bank, serving vulnerable communities throughout the Seattle area. Big gratitude to the Joint Task Force out of Olympia, U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, who volunteer at their local food banks as seen here today!
