🙏🏻💚I had the best adventure on my birthday this year!! Scott and I started the night before at 7 Cedars Casino for dinner. We woke up and drove to the Sol Duc Hot Springs in the Olympic National Forest for a morning soak. We hiked to a waterfall afterwards. Then we were off to Neah Bay, WA!
Neah Bay is the main city of the amazing nation of the Makah Tribe. They are incredibly strong people whos ancestors lived among the rocks and gulls. They have preserved their culture and some of their ancestral lands. We paid their annual $20 recreational fee to go to Cape Flattery, the northern most point of the contigous United States. The first photos are the view from the top.
We checked out one of their outsider friendly beaches, and visited their Totem Park, which is located right near the beach. I love the halibut and salmon with roe totems the best.
We ate some Halibut and Cod fish and chips at a foodtruck called BIGGINZ. It was epic, and we highly recommend them! We also frequented Native Grounds coffee shop, right next to the marina.
We stayed the night parked in our Sprinter Van RV near a beach outside their reservation. We watched the sunset and Havana played on all the driftwood. The next morning, we went back to go to their cultural center. It was absolutely worth the entrance fee. We saw ancient artifacts as old as 4000 years old, and learned about their old ways of life.
Afterwards, we beach hopped all day and ended up at a quiet camp spot in the Olympic National Forest.
It's going to be hard to beat this birthday! Thanks for making it so special, Scott 🙏🏻💚
