Center for District Innovation and Leadership in Early Education

DIAL EE focuses on creating the conditions to ensure high quality education for all children, from early childhood through high school graduation.

The Center for District Innovation and Leadership in Early Education (DIAL EE) supports school districts to align early education and K-12 systems to ultimately realize the best outcomes for all children. DIAL EE is currently partnered with a diverse set of California school districts to explore effective practices and policy in governance and leadership, budgeting, workforce development and conti

nuous improvement for Preschool to 3rd grade. Embedded in this work is a focus on equity–for children, families, and the workforce. DIAL EE is informed by a group of early education leaders to ground its work in the realities, interests, and priorities of those responsible for early education within their districts.

We are pleased to introduce the keynote speakers for the DIAL EE Institute, Hilda and Olivier Bernier. At the Institute, we will be screening the film produced by the Berniers, "Forget Me Not: Inclusion in the Classroom." The film follows the Berniers and their fight for an inclusive education for their 3-year-old son Emilio, who was born with Down Syndrome. After the showing of the film, we will host a dedicated Q & A session with the Berniers to give attendees a chance to ponder the themes of the film and how they connect with their own journeys to creating an inclusive education for all children. We are hosting our second bi-annual Institute on October 15 - 17, 2025 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Carson in Carson, California. The Institute is an engaging, hands-on, collaborative experience for California school district teams to develop a comprehensive early education strategy.
