July 30th marked over 400 DAYS since Kuya Rob, a Filipino migrant father, was abducted by ICE in California and to the North West Detention Center concentration camp in Tacoma WA, separating Kuya from his son and elderly mother.

Kuya Rob has endured 400 days of abhorrent conditions at the hands of I CE and G EO group, and blatant neglect from the Philippine Consulate who failed to aid Kuya for over ONE YEAR.

In response, the Kuya Rob campaign team as part of the Tanggol Migrante Movement flyered, gathered signatures, and shared the urgency of Kuya’s case to workers at UWMC.

With over 439 signatures, we are now close to our goal of 500 thanks to your efforts.

On Monday 7/27, Migrante sa U spoke at PSONA, where over 180 Filipinos and those in solidarity mobilized to the Seattle Philippine Consulate to uplift the true conditions of Filipinos overseas.

In Marcos Jr. State of The Nation Address, he claimed that he had “helped thousands of Filipinos overseas.”-
But we know that these are lies.
We as Filipinos overseas continue to experience the impacts of forced migration due to corruption back home.
We are made to work the most backbreaking and exploitive jobs.
And we are under constant attacks by the Trump regime, where over 2,000 people are now kidnapped everyday by ICE,
All signed off on and supported by Marcos himself.

But Filipinos overseas continue to organize and resist! Our Migrante formed out of helping our coworker Aunty Lynn be free from ICE detention, and we continue the call for the Philippine Consulate to INTERVENE NOW! RELEASE ATN! FREE THEM ALL!

FREE KUYA ROB FROM 400 DAYS IN NWDC!

Thursday July 30th marks Kuya Rob’s 400th Day in NWDC. Kuya Rob has faced separation from his son and elderly mother, horrifyingly unsanitary conditions from ICE and GEO group, and neglect from the Philippine Consulate. The PH Consulate has over $20 million in Assistance-to-Nationals Fund meant for Filipinos in distress that they have withheld time and time again from our kababayan. Kuya Rob has filled out the ATN form 4 times and still not received substantial aid from the Consulate.

We are calling on the community to show the PH Consulate we will not be ignored! Help us reach 500 signatures by 7/30 to demand the WA Philippine Consulate intervene on behalf of Kuya Rob to reunite him with his son! Free Kuya Rob now!

MIGRANTE SA U stands in solidarity with the striking ILWU Local 6 workers and ILWU Local 10 workers at the C&H Sugar Refinery in Crockett. These dock workers are fighting for a fair contract and their rights to basic healthcare and benefits. C&H has profited from the exploitation of workers from Crockett to Negros Island, where Filipino farmworkers have endured decades of oppressive and backbreaking working conditions. Our struggles to defend our livelihood as workers in a hospital that uses C&H sugar are connected to these same struggles in Crockett and Negros. We stand with all workers who assert their rights to a dignified livelihood. It is just to organize for our rights!

Yesterday July 6th, our movement delivered over 325 signatures of Filipinos OUTRAGED by the Philippine Consulate’s ONE YEAR of neglect of Kuya Rob’s unjust and cruel detention in the Northwest Detention Center.

Our demands are clear

1) Intervene to demand the release of Kuya Rob from his unjust detainment to be reunited with his son.

2) Exercise diplomatic pressure to prevent Kuya Rob from being transferred to any other detention facility away from his support network.

3) Conduct a welfare check and an investigation into the conditions of the Northwest Detention Center.

4) Grant Kuya Rob and his family Assistance to Nationals funds.

5) Meet with The Tanggol Migrante Movement and provide transparency in the Consulate’s involvement in Kuya’s case. In addition, we demand that the Consulate officials, Henery S. Bensurto Jr., Leilani Feliciano, Bernice Santayana, Neil Ferrer, Babe Romualdez, and Ferdinand Marcos Jr.- Face the people

On June 8th, the National Day of Action for Kuya Jeff, we voiced out Kuya Rob’s story - who even in detention was a key organizer that lead to the victory of Kuya Jeff’s release!

It has been almost a whole YEAR since Kuya Rob’s unjust detainment, under inhumane conditions and no assistance from the PH consulate. Alongside Kuya we continue to fight for his freedom and immediate release so to be united with his son and mother.
