Thankfully Sebago Cove isn’t experiencing this level of infestation, and we’re truly grateful for that. It’s also a powerful reminder of why our yearly clean-up efforts matter so much. Staying proactive is how we keep our water ways healthy and ensure that this never becomes our future!

Sebago Cove friends and family — we’ve got BIG news to share! The SCPA is thrilled to update you on the incredible work happening on the cove this month. From July 6th through July 17th, New England Milfoil is back with their crews and two boats, tackling invasive milfoil in some of our most impacted areas.

During the first week alone, we had some impressive results:

One boat removed 1,560 gallons of milfoil in just four days while suctioning the north channel and the Small Beach Mooring Field.

The same boat continued with another 640 gallons per day while working on a private waterfront area.

The second boat spent the entire week suctioning the waterfronts of Alderberry Bay, thanks to the HOA’s incredible effort to fund a full week of removal. We don’t have the final numbers yet — but trust us, it was substantial.

Over the next two weeks, the team will continue clearing the channel from SPPOA past the Lakeview Common dock area, along with the Big Beach Mooring Field.
