🚨 WE NEED YOU — OUR SHELTER IS FULL! 🚨

Our kennels are full, and sadly, we haven’t had enough adopters coming through our doors to meet the amazing dogs waiting for homes. 💔🐾

These dogs are waiting every day for someone to notice them, give them a chance, and take them home. They have so much love to give — they just need someone to see them. ❤️

🏠 ADOPTERS: Please come meet our dogs! You might just find your new best friend.

🐶 RESCUES: If you can pull, foster, or help with placement, PLEASE reach out to us. Every kennel we can open gives another dog a chance.

⚠️ We cannot do this alone. When shelters are full and adoptions slow down, the situation becomes critical very quickly.

Even if you can’t adopt, PLEASE SHARE this post. Your share could put the right dog in front of the right person. 🙏

💙 Come meet them. Choose one. Save a life.

💜 NORA NEEDS A SOFT PLACE TO LAND 💜

Some cats leave an impression the moment you meet them. Nora is one of those cats.

We estimate Nora is around 10 years old, and she may just be the sweetest little old lady you’ll ever meet. She greets everyone with kindness, enjoys attention, and has a gentle soul that is impossible not to fall in love with.

Nora got the much-needed dental she needed last week, and now she is ready to get outta the shelter!

Right now, Nora is living in a shelter kennel. She’s handling it as best as she can, but let’s be honest—a kennel is no place for a wonderful senior cat to spend her golden years.

We are hoping to find Nora a foster home or rescue placement where she can relax, be comfortable, and enjoy the simple pleasures every senior cat deserves: a cozy bed, sunny windows, gentle pets, and a family to love her.

Senior pets are often overlooked, but they have so much to offer. Nora has already outgrown the wild kitten stage and is ready to be someone’s loyal companion. She doesn’t need much—just a little kindness and a safe place to call home.

If you’ve ever considered fostering, Nora would be an incredible choice. We would love nothing more than to see her curled up on a blanket instead of sitting behind kennel doors.

Come meet Nora and see for yourself why everyone who meets her falls in love.

🌱 Meet Bean & Sappling! 🌱

These two little sprouts are ready to grow… just not in the shelter! 🥺

Bean and Sappling are two adorable 3-month-old boys who came to us from a home with several other pets. They are both still young, curious, playful, and full of potential — and they are growing up in a shelter when they should be growing up in loving homes. 💚

These sweet boys are looking for families who will give them the love, patience, and guidance they need to blossom into wonderful adult dogs. 🌱

Before adoption is finalized, they will be neutered, microchipped, and up to date on appropriate vaccines.

Let’s get these little guys home! 🏡💚 They have so much growing up to do, and we want their next chapter to happen with a family by their side.

“What do I have on my face?” 😂🍦🐶

Some of our favorite moments happen when shelter dogs get to leave the shelter and enjoy a little adventure of their own. Like getting an official pup cup for the very first time! 🥹

You can see the excitement in their faces. The sparkle in their eyes. The absolute joy of discovering something new…

And yes, there may be a little drool involved. But honestly? Worth it. 😍

You can help give a shelter dog that feeling through our Paws on the Town program! 🐾

Borrow a dog for the day and get them OUT of the shelter! Take them on an adventure, enjoy some quality time together, and help them decompress from shelter life. These outings also help us learn more about their personalities, likes, and quirks—which can make all the difference in finding them the perfect forever home.

It’s a win for the dog.
A win for you.
A win for the shelter.

A WIN-WIN-WIN! 🐾❤️

Come visit Selma Animal Services Monday–Saturday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to speak with staff and take a shelter dog out on the town! Must be 18+ years or with a guardian.

Who knows? You might just discover your new best friend. 🐶✨

🐾 UPDATE ON THE SHAFER PARK KITTIES 🐾

Last Monday, we received a heartbreaking report about three kittens who had been dumped in a box at Shafter Park. When they arrived, they were absolutely terrified and unsure of everything around them. 💔

A week later, we are happy to share that these little ones are doing well! 🥹 They are still understandably a little shy, but with time, patience, and lots of love, we know these babies are going to blossom into wonderful companions. 💕

Now, we would LOVE to get them into foster-to-adopt homes! A quiet, patient home could make all the difference in helping these kittens come out of their shells and learn just how wonderful life can be. 🏡🐱

Before adoption is finalized, they will be up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed/neutered.

Could you be the safe landing spot these sweet babies need? 🐾

Have questions? Please text us at 559-218-1937.

Please share and help these four Shafter Park kitties find the loving homes they deserve! ❤️

🐻💛 BEAR HAS GONE TO RESCUE! 💛🐻

After 253 days at Selma Animal Services, our favorite fetch-loving, snack-loving, water-loving, one-wonky-ear-up, one-floppy-ear-down boy is officially headed to his next chapter! 🎉🐾

Bear will be going to californiabullyrescue , where he will have the opportunity to continue growing, learning, and finding the life he deserves. 💛

Bear’s journey has not always been easy. When he first arrived, he was scared, soaked, and unsure of the world around him. It took time, patience, and a whole lot of treats to help him learn to trust.

Over 253 days, we watched Bear grow. We watched him make friends, learn new things, discover his love of fetch, enjoy pup cups, splash in the water, and show us more and more of the wonderful dog we always knew was hiding inside.

Bear needed a special person to see his potential. Thanks to CA Bully Rescue, he now has a new chance to continue growing and find the life he deserves. 💛

Support Bear and CBR here: https://www.cabullyrescue.org/donate

We want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who shared Bear, visited him, donated wishlist items, brought him treats, volunteered with him, cheered him on, and refused to give up on him.

You helped Bear get seen. You helped his story reach farther. And now… Bear is off to rescue! 🐻🎉

We are so excited to see what the next chapter holds for our longest resident. Go be amazing, Bear. We will miss you! 💛🐾

We are excited to announce that Willard has left the building!

Willard has been with us since May and we are so happy that he had found a home ❤️

Thank you so much to his new family that opened their hearts and home to him.

💔 No interest. No inquiries. No one has come forward for Annabelle.

And we honestly don't understand how.

We know Annabelle has a tall order. We know she is not the right dog for every home. She is smart, driven, active, and has a big personality. We believe she would do best as the only pet in the home, and we do not recommend her for homes with small animals or small children.

But none of that means she deserves to spend her life in a shelter.

Annabelle has now been with us for 6 months.

Six months of waiting.

Six months of watching other dogs come and go while she remains behind kennel bars.

And the shelter is starting to take its toll.

Annabelle is struggling. The constant noise, the lack of routine, the overstimulation, the isolation—it is a difficult environment for any dog, but especially for a smart, driven, active dog who needs something to do and a person to connect with.

We know she has a tall order.

But we also know she is capable of being an incredible dog for the right person.

We saw it in foster care.

Annabelle was potty trained. She was crate trained. She settled in the house. She loved her people. She played with toys, splashed in pools, played fetch, and showed off the goofy, happy personality we know is still in there.

She just needs the right environment.

The shelter is not it.

We don't need someone to tell us Annabelle is perfect. We know she isn't perfect. No dog is.

We need someone willing to look at the whole dog.

Someone who understands that a dog can be stressed in a shelter and still be wonderful in a home.

Someone who is willing to give her the time, structure, patience, and love she needs.

Because Annabelle is struggling.

And we know she doesn't deserve to spend another six months waiting for someone to finally see her.

Please share her. Please talk about her. Please help us find the person who is willing to give Annabelle a chance.

She has been waiting long enough. ❤️🐾

Willard is somehow STILL on the market... 💔

Also answering to: Willard Billard, Willard Dillard, W***y, Big Bill, Sir Woofs-a-Lot, and approximately 47 other nicknames we've made up along the way. 😂

This sweet, goofy guy has completely stolen our hearts, and we can't believe he's still waiting for a family of his own.

Willard is the kind of dog who just wants to be wherever his people are. He's incredibly affectionate, loves to chat with you, and has the funniest, floppiest personality. Give him a kiddie pool to splash in or a brush to pamper him with, and you've officially become his favorite person.

✨ Potty trained
✨ Loves people
✨ Great with other dogs (he gets adorably floppy and excited!)
✨ Professional brushing enthusiast
✨ Big personality with an even bigger heart

The shelter is becoming harder on Willard every day. He's such a social dog that being alone in a kennel just isn't the life he deserves.

Someone out there is missing out on one incredible best friend.

Come meet our favorite Willard Billard Dillard and see why we've all fallen in love with this big teddy bear. We promise you'll leave with a smile... and hopefully a new family member. ❤️🐾
