As we close out National Correctional Officer Appreciation Week, the jail command staff of the Tate County Sheriff’s Office was honored to treat our detention staff to a crawfish boil as a small token of appreciation for the work they do each and every day.

The men and women of the Tate County Jail consistently demonstrate professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serving this county with honor. We are extremely proud of the culture they have built and the standard of excellence they represent.

Thank you to every correctional officer, detention staff member, nurse, cook, and support employee who helps keep our facility operating safely and professionally 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Your work matters, and it does not go unnoticed.

The Tate County Sheriff’s Office is extremely proud of the men and women who serve inside our jail each and every day. Their work is demanding, often unseen, and carried out in an environment where they encounter individuals at some of the lowest and most difficult moments of their lives.

Despite those challenges, our staff consistently rise to the occasion. Through our commitment to professional accreditation standards, we have built a culture rooted in accountability, discipline, and excellence. That culture is not just a goal on paper. It is lived out daily through the actions, decisions, and integrity of our team.

The men and women serving Tate County inside our jail represent the very best of this profession. Their dedication to safety, order, and the fair treatment of every individual in our custody sets them apart. Quite simply, they are second to none, and this community should take great pride in the work they do.

Update: Phone lines are back up and running

Our office and jail phone lines are currently down due to a phone carrier outage.

**911 services are not impacted and remain fully operational**

The Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of scam phone calls once again circulating in our area. Callers are falsely identifying themselves as a Sergeant with the Sheriff’s Office and attempting to obtain personal information and/or money.

Please be advised that the Sheriff’s Office will never contact you by phone to request payment, gift cards, or sensitive personal information.

If you receive a call of this nature, do not provide any information and hang up immediately.

Stay alert and help us spread the word to protect others in our community.
