On Sunday May 10th at 1700 hrs the Seneca County Communications Center dispatched the Town of Seneca Falls Fire Department, the Seneca Falls Police Department, the Fayette Vol Fire Dept , the Waterloo Fire Department, the Geneva Fire Department, and North Seneca Ambulance to an address on Chapel Street for the reported structure fire. While enroute 1462 received a phone call from a member reporting garage on fire not the house. Seneca Falls PD on location right after confirming smoke coming from the garage. Seneca Falls Engine 3 was first due and grabbed the hydrant at the corner of Rumsey Street and Chapel St. The crew from Engine 3 pulled an 1 3/4 line and stretched it up the driveway to the garage. Crews from Quint 1 and Engine 1 assisted with removing the garage door as there were no other doors on the structure. Once inside heavy smoke was encountered with the engine compartment of the car on fire. Mutual aid companies were arriving at the same time providing additional manpower if needed. Fire was under control shortly after gaining access to the garage. Command released Fayette and Geneva at this time. Waterloo Fire provided standby Engine at the Seneca Falls Station while additional overhaul was done and an investigation was conducted. Vehicle was removed from the scene and all units were back in service by 1800 hrs. Units on scene from Seneca Falls was 1461, 1462, 1463, 1465, Engine 1, Engine 3, Quint 1, Rescue 51, and Rescue 52.
