New shirts, same mission, hit the 10th Ave neighborhood today with the team and had a great time knocking doors and talking with folks.
Loved hearing people’s concerns today, everyone’s got something different on their mind, and honestly that’s what makes this interesting to me. Also got to hear from some residents who’ve lived in Shakopee for decades. Their stories about how this city has changed are something else.
Funny thing, the question I got asked most today was “is this your first time running?” Nope! I ran in 2024 and finished third out of eight candidates for two open seats. Grateful for how far we’ve come since then, and grateful for every conversation today.

Just left the 10th Avenue Safety Analysis listening session and wanted to pass along what I learned in case you couldn’t make it.
The City is studying roadway safety improvements along 10th Ave, from Harrison Street to Marschall Road/County Road 17, looking at how to improve safety, accessibility, and mobility for everyone who travels that corridor. Several design alternatives are on the table right now. Construction is programmed for 2028-2029 (west of Apgar St in 2028, east of Apgar St in 2029), with final design happening in 2027.
If you weren’t able to attend, you can still share your feedback directly with the City, visit www.ShakopeeMN.gov/10thAvenue or scan the QR code on the project flyer. Your input matters here regardless of which alternative you prefer, this is your chance to weigh in before decisions get made.

Spent the last evening at the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s Wacipi and it was truly something special. Over 1,300 dancers from across the country, incredible drum groups, so much color and energy. I felt genuinely honored just to be present and take it in.

Grateful to this community for welcoming everyone with open arms. If you haven’t been, the Wacipi runs through today (Aug 16), public welcome, free admission. Go experience it for yourself.

What a night. Hit about a dozen Night to Unite gatherings tonight and I gotta say, this is exactly why I love Shakopee. Every single stop was a great conversation, welcoming neighbors, genuine warmth. I got so wrapped up talking with people at each spot that I ran out of time to make it to every gathering, left door hangers behind at a few and I’m already looking forward to going back.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to talk with me tonight. And a huge thank you to my wife for coming along with me and enjoying every conversation right alongside me, this campaign is a team effort and I couldn’t do it without her.
I love talking with all of you, genuinely, so if I didn’t make it to your gathering tonight, please reach out, I want to hear from you. Grateful doesn’t even cover it. Shakopee, you’re the best. 🙏

Today meant a lot to me. Several of you reached out after my “I Voted” post asking where I was on the ballot, because you were genuinely looking for my name. I can’t tell you how much that means.
Quick answer: the Shakopee City Council race isn’t part of today’s primary, that’s decided in the General Election on November 3rd. Still very much in this race, just not today’s ballot!
Thank you for looking for me, for caring, and for voting today no matter what. I see every one of you, and I’m so grateful. See you November 3rd. 🙏
